?? about Tapestry of Nations/Dream

Add our family to the list who really miss TOD/TON. Both were wonderful parades with some of the best music I have heard. It was so moving. We also loved when they added the dream catchers with the nets. The kids loved to make the masks and then add thier dreams to the nets! Oh and how the puppets would come up to the kids! Okay, now I miss it more, thanks a lot!

I loved Tapestry too! My bet is it was expensive for them to run. There were alot of performers plus crowd control was an issue. If you didn't want to watch the parade, it was hard to get passed. Other parades have a quick way to get around them but the World Showcase promonade didn't have as much room. I heard at the end the puppets were in bad shape from getting beat up in the wind.

I LOVED that parade, too. I am not a big parade person, but I would stake out a spot and enjoy that one. My husband (not a Disney fan) LOVED that one (which is sayinga whole lot LOL).

Yeh, I miss it too!

More of an experience than a parade really. Incredible music!

Maybe it will come back someday when Disney management realizes magic isn't measured in dollars...

What wonderful memories!! We LOVED ToN/ToD and so wish WDW would bring it back. It was our favorite parade ever. The CM's loved it too! Our DD's first Disney job in Entertainment was in ToN/ToD as a puppet. Now DD is a 'face' character but she'd drop everything in a second to do Tapestry again!

It was my favorite parade, too! I miss it every time I'm in Epcot, or when we listen to the CD here at home. It's the one CD that can get me feeling the 'Disney Magic'.

We saw it for the first time when DS was 1, and he saw it again right before it ended (2003? I may be off a year.) Every time I play the CD here at home, my son says in his excited voice, "Hey Mom-that's the parade song!" I hope he will have the change to see it again soon, and that my daughter will have the chance to see it for the first time.

I agree-it was tough to move during the parade, but it was so worth it.

I'm in the minority, but DH and I hated that parade! We cringed every time, and we're glad it's gone.

Sorry to bump this.
I miss it too, one of my favorite things ever at Epcot and like the original JII, something I never saw. On the first trip during the Millennium Celebration, we missed it and Illuminations due to rain and it already had left when I went in 2003. Both versions were great, with the Sage and Dreamseekers on my list of favorite Disney characters... I hope that they would at least reincorporate themes of the parade in Epcot somewhere someday...

We loved it too. We saw it several times. I loved the music.
We watched one evening from the deck in Japan, and it was wonderful from that angle. I wish they would bring it back!

It was our favorite as well. The last time we saw it one of the costumed characters reached out to my 6-year-old DD and danced with her. She was just in awe and it was truly a special moment. The music still gives me tingles. I wish they hadn't done away with it.

It was my favorite parade, and actually, the ONLY parade I loved! Luckily I bought the CD because I loved the music so much! :earsgirl:

Hey everyone! Lets stop telling each other how much we miss it and do something about it! There were 53 posts alone saying we would like it back and I could only imagine hundreds more thinking the same. It may not seem like a lot at first, but 53 letters arriving at WDW guest relations at once would have to make an impression. Im sure people have written in the past but a letter here or there may not give them a clear idea of how much it is missed. Take a few minutes and write a letter, mines in the mail. It certainly couldnt hurt!

One thing though. When you write, do not make any suggestions on how to change, or improve the parade. Otherwise your letter will be returned by a paralegal stateing that it contained "creative elements" and could not be kept or acted upon. Believe me, I know from first hand experience!

ToN/ToD will always be "Way-la" to me. It was my first choice event at WDW...everytime we went to WDW for my bday i always requested dinner and "Way-la" afterwards...there was nothing more beautiful, breathtaking and emotionally moving than that parade/performance...i hope it comes back someday soon so i can share it with my baby!

And great idea with the mailing...I'm going to write them, i promise

I'm going to write as well, I was so dissapointed this May when we got to Epcot and found out there was no parade. I'm a Huge planner (right now researching for next december's trip) and somehow never realized that this had been canceled.

Thanks Dan for the great video link, I thought I would never see my favorite parade again.
