I just went in and checked my itinerary for our flights on Song in December. On our departing flight, next to "Class" it says "Coach (U)" . On our returning flight next to "Class" it says "Coach(K).

Does anyone know what the U & K stand for, or why its different on each flight?

U and K are your fare codes. They really don't mean anything except to denote how much you paid. As I recall L is the lowest fare and Y is Full Fare.

The one thing you can use the fare codes for is to figure out how many frequent flyer miles you get. Under Delta's HORRIBLE "improvements" to the frequent flyer program cheaper fares get less credit.

Very interesting! Thanks, Carol. I figured it probably wasnt anything important but where they were different for the 2 flights I wanted to be sure everything was in check.

The codes also signify wether or not that flight counts towards the new "fly 3 get 1 free" promotions. I think that the codes L, U, and T were not counted, but K codes were.
