? about sealing in signatures

I think I saw it here somewhere but I can't find it - does anyone know of a way to seal in the signatures on T-shirts? I have a t-shirt that the characters signed - I don't remember what type of pen was used so I want to try and do something to seal the signatures so they don't wear off or accidently get erased. Thanks!

Well I don't know how to seal them in but I'll tell you what I did when my fave band signed a t-shirt of mine. I bought a fabric pen on the same colour (a thin tipped one, not a big chunky one) and carefully drew over the signitures with it, then ironed over it like you would with those pens. After several dozen washes it was beginning to fade so I just traced it again. Worked for me.

bump - anyone else have any ideas? I don't want to draw over the signatures and lose the integrity of the signatures but thanks for the idea!

We have always used sharpies or an autograph pen and the sigs are still good after a ton of washings--my ds seems to like to wear these shirts the best.

I know with crayon drawings I have always put a piece of wax paper over the drawing and ironed it on the hottest setting. That helps set the crayon, would think it would work for tshirts.

Are fabric markers thin tipped? If so, use one of those and heat set it.

I don't know what type of pen was used - it looks like some were markers but some look like ball point. It actually belongs to my brother & I am trying to preserve it for him. I don't want to sign over the names - after awhile it doesn't look as nice - did that previously. Thanks for the advice though.
