i posted on the restaurant board, but this may be a better place.

we're going with another family for a week long trip the first week of december. we will have 4 adults, 4 kids & 7week old infant. trying to make our ps......should i reserve for 8 or 9? most of the ps are at resorts, not the parks. right now i have them for 8, not 9....the baby will be in a sling or carseat carrier. anyone have any experience?

also, i have a ps for CA Grill for 4....we will be taking the baby...should i change that to 5?

thanks in advance.

When you call to make the ressies, they will ask you how many adults, how many children and their ages. Usually they will ask you right away if you need a high chair or booster seat too.

I'd say stick with the 8:00 times. What ages are the other children? My baby is now 11 months, but even at 2 months she was in bed for the night by 8:30. My boys (now 9 and 10) went to bed at 8:30 until very recently, now they have a 9:30 bedtime.

So, to me, even an 8:00 dinner sounds very late...lol. We eat dinner around 6:00.

the times are early....the table number is what i was talking about....4 adults/4 kids & 1 infant....i have ressies for 8 people, not 9!

I, personally, would make it for 9 people if you are planning to put the baby in a car seat carrier which will take up a seat location. They may only seat you at a table for 8 which may have no room for a car seat carrier. Your best bet would probably be to talk to the CM when you make your PS and explain to her your concern.

LOL! And here I was thinking you'd be eating dinner with kids falling asleep all over the place...LOL!

i meant misunderstand....(that's what happens when your pregnant & have a 4 & 7 yr old yelling in your ear!).

We made two ps at restaurants last month and we were traveling with a 5 month old...both restaurants included the infant in the number of persons to seat.

As the others have said, Yes, include baby in your count. Congratulations on your new addition and have a great time at Disney! :D

When are you due, by the way? According to the info you gave, it must be close to my DD's first birthday -- October 15.

I had to cancel and rebook an entire group reservation for HoopDeeDoo when the CM realized I hadn't counted the baby as a person at the table. They very rightly pointed out that there had to be space allowed for the high chair and the rooms only legally accomodate a specific number of occupants at a time due to fire marshall restrictions.

i'm going to rebook....the infant will be around 2 months old when we go...i may do better keeping her in a carrier instead of a sling at that age. oh well, i better get calling!

A tip for the CG- we recently ate there with a 2yo and 4yo. Most of our PS's were made for 5 (including the 2yo). Once or twice, when making the ressie, concierge said it was for 4+1infant (to get last minute ps's usually).

I wish we had done this for the CG. We had a window table reserved, but when we got there, we were told that they do not accomodate parties of 5 at a window table. We explained that dd did not need a place at the table (she always fits at the corner of a table for 4 and doesn't need a knife, fork and glass as we usually let her snack off our plates), but it was too late at this stage. We had no problem with this seating arrangement (4+1) at Narcoosee's or 50's Sci-Fi diner, so it is possible.

So, the moral of the story is that if you want a window seat at CG, book for 4 + 1 infant and hope for the best!

and was able to get ca grill for 5....which is the only one i wanted a ps for 5 (4plus infant). the other ps changed to....

capemay...got an even better table for 9
boma...2 tables 1 for 5 & one for 4....but i kept my other ps for 8 just incase they can't sit us together. i don't see WHY a 7 week old baby can't be held in sling.
i cancelled ice cream social bc it was going to be 2 tables (again) and since we were over 8, they wanted a deposit of $10/head....with 24hr cancel policy....that's more than the actual cost of the ice cream social....so we'll just walk in instead.
