We have a reservation in Feb 2009 at OKW (1 Bdrm) that we already have booked on points. Now we would like to add more days to that reservation but pay cash because we have used all of our points:scared: . Can I just call MS and ask about availability for adding on to this reservation but pay cash or will it need to be a separate reservation? Also, is there any possibility we would be able to keep the same room or will we definitely have to change between the points ressie and the cash ressie? Lastly, is there any discount when a DVC member books a cash ressie at a DVC resort? Thanks so much for your help:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :lovestruc :worship:

If you make a cash reservation through MS, it will just be a continuation of your points stay. So if you have five nights on points and add three cash nights, you now have an equivalent eight night on points.

A 25% discount is sometimes available for members, you just have to ask.

If you make a cash reservation through CRO, you will have to request to stay in the same room. They can't link those two reservations because they are made in two different reservation systems. Have your DVC points stay number added to your CRO reservation and vice versa. Then when you check in ask if your two stays are linked so you don't have to move.

Thanks so much! That's just what I needed to know:thumbsup2 It is our 1st stay at OKW and we are excited:yay:

That's true if it's the same unit type. This shouldn't be an issue at SSR or OKW but it could be. It is more of an issue for some other resorts. For example, if you have a dedicated 2 BR reserved and all you can get on cash through MS is a lockoff, you will have to move. If one got a room for cash through CRO, you could ask not to move and might or might not have to but there would be a real risk of having to do so as noted above.

Since OKW has no dedicated 1BR Villas it shouldn't be an issue in this case. When making the cash reservation be sure to duplicate any requests already made - for instance, if your points reservation is in the "Near Hospitality House" category , be sure that the cash reservation has the same notation made. The same is true if you request water view or upper/lower floor.

True, didn't realize it was a 1 BR until you pointed it out. But given that near HH is a booking cat and not a request and that I don't believe that the near HH cat is generally available for cash, it could still get the OP not being able to match them up.

OKW is our first home and we love staying there. It gives us a break from all the activity you normally get at WDW. Kind a refuge from the noise and bustle. Plus the rooms are so big and you get a full sized washer and dryer, not stackable ones.

Finally, nothing is better than sitting in your PJs on the porch enjoying coffee or juice and watching the world go by.

Enjoy your stay at my home.:flower3:

Thank you! I am sure that we will:thumbsup2 Our home is SSR and we LOVE the peace that we find there so we thought we'd try our neighbors at OKW this time. We love the contrast between the hustle and bustle of the parks and the peace of SSR.
Thanks again for all your help.
PS We didn't request our 1 Bdrm near HH. We actually enjoy a bit of a walk(just like at SSR) but did request a high floor with a Trumbo Canal view. We will love it all no matter what:goodvibes
