Do I have to carry the whole paper around, or can I cut off the name and barcode part and laminate it??

if talking a 'ticket' why carry it around? Once in the park you don't need it again. depending on the park it either gets buried in the backpack (SW) or goes in the locker (AQ). yes, it is worth carrying a passport because of the other discounts like food but if just a 'ticket' what's the need?

I don't want to carry around a large piece of paper for a whole week. And I am worried it might get wet/tore up.

I printed mine out, folded them up, and then put them in a plastic baggie. I kept it in the hotel room until the day we actually went. I'd be wary of laminating it in case that interferred with the scanning machine.
