Hi all. I've been lurking for awhile, but this is my first post. I've learned alot from these boards and have used many tips in planning my disney trip for May 21.

I have a question and need some opinions. We have ressies for POFQ for May 21 - June 3. We had decided to wait for the relocation team to call us, hoping that way, we may get a better deal, considering it will be hard to place us for 2 rooms for 13 nights. We have waited and waited and waited . . . :( , no call yet. We are getting nervous as we are just thirty days from check in!!

Today, we heard the AP rates came out and as we had the $94 rate, I decided to call and try to apply the AP rate on the ressies and hopefully get the ball rolling on relocation.

Imagine my surprise, when they allowed me to apply the rate to two seperate ressies (for the same time period) and mentioned nothing about POFQ being closed!

So my question is: am I being crazy to wait for the call in hopes for a better deal, or should I go ahead and call the number and see what happens!

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I would probably wait and follow Mary's advice from Mousesavers.com
http://www.mousesavers.com/pofq.html

CRO and WDTC have nothing to do with relocating the people, only the "Relocation Team", that's why nothing was said when you called and applied the code. That was a good idea though because now you have an even better rate for them to work with when they try and relocate you. ~:D~

I really think you should call. There may be a chance that any deluxe resort you want an upgrade for may not be available. That is, if you want a deluxe upgrade. I honestly don't think they will give you any better deal unless all other moderate resorts are booked.

Yes...call now..you may get a great upgrade to a deluxe hotel.

Have in mind where you would like to stay if you got a good deal and just see if anything is available and how much it would be...

I got a good deal on WL in June. But I had to ask...

Just wanted to let everyone know my changes, and make sure I did o.k.!

I decided to bite the bullet and I just called. I explained that I had been hearing FQ was closed and was waiting paitently on my call, but I was getting nervous, as we were inside thirty days til check in!
The CM said not to worry about that, there were people checking in on the 3rd of May that they have not been able to contact yet. (Must not be reading these boards)!

Anyway, I explained that I called yesterday and applied the AP rate to FQ and no one said a word about the relocation. She was surprised that they allowed me to use the AP rate and said that they did not even have the code for the upgrades for the passholders. After a little searching, I guess she used the FL resident rate as it was the same as the AP rate.

This is what we booked:

6 nights WL (Woods View) @ 93.69/night
2 nights AKL (Savannah View) @ 104.85/night
5 nights Polynesian (garden view) @ 115.69/night

Prices include tax.
So, How did I do?

Considering I'm paying $229 a night at the YC with the AXA code plus tax, I'd say you got the deal of a lifetime.

Wow! I am pleased with my $74 AP rate for POR, since that is where we were scheduled to be in the first place and really like that resort. But wow. I can't believe you get to stay in all those deluxes for that amazing price. We've never stayed in a deluxe because we don't spend much time at the resort, but we sure would for those prices. What a blessing for you. Congratulations!

:earseek: :earseek: UMMMMMMMM in a word--AWESOME!!! Those are the best rates for those resorts I have ever seen!! That is MUCH better than cast member pricing for those same resorts--YOU SHOULD FEEL FORTUNATE!!! WOW!!!
Just for comparison--the regular rate of a STANDARD view room (not even savannah) at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is $239 a night + tax!

I too am quite surprised that they were able to change the rate over to any other discount at POFQ since they are closing. I don't know how the CM was able to access any rooms as they should not be in the system. You are reallly fortunate.

Well I would say you got the rates of the Century, unless of course you are just having some fun at our expense. :)

The best rate I have seen for a Florida resident rate that was relocated was $124 to the Boardwalk.

I would also say the CM that booked an AP rate on top of a POFQ reservation that needs to be relocated did not follow procedure.

Congrats to you though those are wonderful rates.

I was tired of waiting as well & called for our 6-20 through 6-29 anniversary trip & was given the same rate for AKL Savannah view. The CM on the relocation team said the room is normally $315 per night...I wasn't going to argue with that. :bounce:

Nope, I promise I am not just having fun at your expense. As much turmoil as I have been through just deciding to wait or to call, I know that would be a cruel and unusual joke!

The rates are true and accurate, I actually have two ressies booked for different nights at the same time and they split the stay on the other ressie between AKL and WL at the same rates!

I was amazed they still had rooms at any of the resorts for us, so all things considered, I'm not going to complain!

Thanks!

Boy are we jealous! We were told that under NO circumstances could any discount be applied to our full rack rate that we were paying at POFQ in Sept.

While we are staying at the Poly now instead of POFQ, a discount off of that $148 rate from POFQ would have been nice before paying the upgrade fee (as we were counting on having a discounted rate at POFQ).

You got a great deal! Have a great time!

I am so jealous!!!!:p Those are amazing prices! You will have the most wonderful time, and it's not long now :D

I'm so sad, I'm going over Christmas and of course being holiday time I'm paying FULL rate for CBR. Not expecting any AP discounts either. All that after a 9 hour flight  What a price we pay for our WDW fun!

Have a great time in your bargain deluxes :Pinkbounc
