We are staying at CBR. Taking ds18months. We'd like to rent a sea raycer for 30 minutes or so.

Do they have life vests small enough for an 18 month old? If not, do I need to purchase one this summer and take it with us, or are vests even required in the CBR lake?

I asked on the resort board, but didn't get a reply.

Thanks!

I don't remember seeing infant/toddler PFDs at the resorts, only child and adult sized. Perhaps you could call the resort and find out??

I don't know if this is applicable or not, but when we were on our Disney Cruise, DH was going to rent a jet ski for him at DS but they told him the kids had to 8 years old to ride. I'm not sure what a sea racer is and if the same rules apply.

Okay, thanks. Maybe I'll keep my eyes peeled for a bargain at the end of summer.

The sea raycers are a little motor boat. I don't think they go very fast. I would think they would allow little ones. Don't they allow toddlers to be held in the pedal boats?

I guess we'll find out.

Thanks!

I would call the hotel. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they say he can't go on them....wouldn't want to buy a lifevest and not be able to use it...

All children under a certain age require lifevest. It is a rule on the water. In a situation like your. I would get one. If a police check is done-not only you but even WDW would get fined. So I bet Disney would not allow your child on the boat without one. I bet Disney supplies them, I would call and ask.

The vest are done by weight so it starts I think at 12 to 30 pound and up from there. They are adjustable and whatnot to make them smaller/bigger as needed.

We are boaters and our DD3 has been in one since before she was a year old.

Okay thanks. Wouldn't hurt for him to have a vest. If they don't supply them, I'll pick one up for him. I'll check it out. Thanks.

I don't know about CBR, but at POR they do have infant life jackets. In fact, I borrowed one for our entire stay at POR to use for ds to swim one stay. Since then, I bought a life jacket at Walmart and he used that at the water parks and resort pool. It is a US Coast Guard Approved life jacket. It's nice because if he loses his footing, it turns him to his back to float.

I didn't know what a sea raycer was so I am not sure of the age requirements, but I agree that a life vest would be good to have for the pool anyway. I would still call and ask if there is an age requirement: I would hate for you to get down there and find out he can't go!

Anyone find out if the resorts have infant/toddler life vests?

We are going this week to AKL with an almost 2 and a 3 yr old. I was under the impression there were life vests there.

Thanks,
Ruth

Oh no, what a bummer. I wonder why there's a age & height requirement to just ride with your parents. What a shame. Perhaps the age/height thing is just if you want to drive one. I'll keep my fingers crossed. All we can do is ask.
