We've never done the Dinner Package before, but I always wonder how good the seating area is.

Don't you feel like you are viewing everything from the side? We'd like to avoid the long wait ahead of time, but don't want to sacrifice good seats to do it.

Seems to me like the majority of the action faces the center of the seating area. Am I wrong?

We have never done the dinner package, but have gotten there late enough to where we were all the way over at the end. We have sat in the middle, the right side, and ALL the way over to the left (almost out the theater). I have found that the view is good in all places. I prefer the right to the left because that is the direction that the boats come out. But I did not find any difference with sitting in the middle vs one of the sides.

Hope this helps.

The section reserved for the Fantasmic dinner package is Witch section, which is all the over on the side. Some people say its fine, others say it's a bad view. Seems to vary from person to person.

We have done the dinner seating 4 times and never felt that the seats were bad. It would be nice if they had the special seating in the middle, one can wish.

We've done FDP and never had a problem with the view. I guess it's personal preference.

I have sat in the middle and have sat on the side in the dinner package section. The view was great in both places. There are screens set up on the sides and the floats go all the way around. If there is only on Fantastic showing, I would recommend booking the package. If there are two show, you might be OK just going to the late show.

When we did the dinner package in June, we were seated near the middle and had no problem whatsoever seeing everything. There were five sections, and the dinner package had the entire section to the right (facing the water) of center, not the section all the way right. We enjoyed the view and Fantasmic quite a bit, especially since we didn't have to get there 1-2 hours early to enjoy it!

Wow, Carla, that surprises me. I thought the section reserved for the dinner package folks was always the one to the far right.

Anyone know if this has been permanently changed?

in at the garage opening and when we got inside it was right there.....we could see fine and the area was perfect for us....we have done it with wheelchairs and 8 others and by ourselves......we have also been in the middle before fantasmic pkg .......I do not think there is a bad seat in the house......

I have seen Fantasmic about 100X. I live in Orlando and I have seen it from everywhere.
Here is the rule of the game.
If you do the dinner package - DO NOT - meet at the entrance on the main street as advised. You can actually go in at the ampitheatre off of the sunset marketplace - near the tower of terror . You can give your priority seating note to the cast member who is at the top of the ampitheatre stairs in the reserved section. Then they let you in the reserved seating. The benefit to this - you can get into that area faster than meeting at the designated location at the front gate. And you beat the mad rush of people trying to get the best seats- who have the prioity seating also.
This is guaranteed to buy you a better seat. The cast members do not patrol this area and do not force you to give up your perfect seat to move to the end of the bench.
However, the reserved seating can have one drawback. Dont sit with a pole directly in your view. When it gets dark - that pole seems to multiply and you are constantly struggling to not miss any of the action blocked by the pole.
Try to have one of the a water projection screen right in front of you. If you are angled inbetween 2 screens - then you are struggling to watch one - without the other in the corner of your eye. And that gave me a headache.
If there are two shows and you dont have young kids - definately go to the second one. It is never as crowded and has older children - which is great because then you are not dealing with screaming babies and young children who are very scared.

I've heard this mentioned a couple of times on these boards about having to move to the end of the rows. I can't compare to the number of times you've seen Fantasmic, but I have seen it a dozen or so times and I've never seen the CM's ask anyone to move to the end of the rows. We've never done the dinner package, so I'm talking about the general seating, not reserved.

We've also watched from the sides and the center. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference, but we won't sit anywhere but in the middle. We find the center screen distracting when watching from the sides. We go to the later showings, don't show up more than 1/2 hour before they open the theatre and we've never had a problem getting middle seats.

I agree, if you sit on the sides, be sure and center yourself with the screen and avoid the poles! Also, if you don't want to get sprayed with a mist from the water screens, don't sit more than half way down the rows.
