Does anybody know if the prices on dates that have already been released are affected when new dates are released? In my case, I'm looking to book April 30-May 6 out of RDU. Up until last week there was an internet one-way fare offered as the cheapest rate, then last week that rate no longer showed up and hasn't since. I've been holding out for a DING! but am starting to get antsy about waiting much longer. Now I'm wondering if the release of new dates would have any affect on the fares for my dates? Any experience w/ that?

I doubt new fares would affect prices on the dates you want to travel. They set their prices according to market pressures, and this can result in wildly different prices for the same flight on different dates/times of year.

I would keep looking for DING's though, although those tend to come along well after you probably would want to book anyway. But you could certainly rebook using a DING fare, and have your earlier-booked flight held as ticketless funds for later.

I noticed that, starting last week, their fares from Nashville to Orlando have been higher than usual...I'm hoping low fares listed as some kind of special--if not a ding!--will follow soon! I'm getting a bit antsy about getting the flights I want for May!

I'm looking for May flights out of RDU and haven't given up! Unlike many people who advocate booking early, I like to book closer to my trip. I usually wait until I'm fairly sure I can make the trip. I also like to wait to see what type special offers will be out there from WDW & US/IOA in case I need to adjust my dates. I haven't been disappointed yet.

Hopefully the dates will be extended this week and we can see what happens! :teeth:

Holy Crud!! I just checked the flight I've been watching for the end of May and for the three of us, the price has gone up $120 since yesterday. This is actually the second time the price has increased since I started watching this flight. I'm really getting a bad feeling. Starting to wish I had booked when I first knew I was going. Guess I'll just keep hoping for a fare sale or a really good ding.
