Hi all. Thinking of purchasing Discovery Cove with dolphin swim packages for DD (6yrs) and myself. DH and youngest DD (3yrs) are not interested so we're thinking of saving money and letting them have a hotel day. We still want to visit Sea World at least once on this trip, however. Hopefully twice.

My question is... does purchasing the Discovery Cove dolphin swim package give me admission into Sea World? How many times? Does anyone know if I could go to Sea World before the Discovery Cove date (within 7 days before).

Thanks in advance for any help.

When you buy your admission to Discovery Cove you automatically get your choice of Sea World, Aquatica and Busch Gardens. It is good for 14 days. If you were to pick Sea world, you have 14 days from the day of first use! And yes you can go to Sea World before you do Discovery Cove. You just have to go to the admissions booth on the left hand side before the turnstiles! You can't miss it, it has a sign on out, that says something about Discovery Cove sign in. You need to bring a copy of your online ticket from Discovery Cove with you, and they print you off a ticket for the day.

As far as just buying tickets for just Sea World for your other members of your family, when you buy a 1 day pass, if you go to a ticketing booth inside of the park, before closing, they will issue free tickets for 1 day. Buy 1 day get the 2nd free. I think you need to have Id to this though, just something with your name on it, so the tickets can be issued in the names.

Discovery Cove is awesome. We went last Feb and it was great. We have booked to go back in March of this year!
Have fun.

What was the weather like? We are considering it for spring break week of March 21. Will you be able to get in the water?

Hi left210, The water in the lazy river is very warm, and same with the "beach" are. It is much like warm bath water.
The water in the dolphin area, and the stingray, coral reef areas are much cooler, but not cool that you can't get in the water. If you do find it is a cool day, you can always get the full wet suit, and then the water doesn't feel cold because it doesn't penetrate the suit. In Feb when we were there, it was actually the nicest day we had, it was 81 degrees. By the end of the day, I was getting cool and shivery, but more so because I had to much sun, and not enough sunscreen. Don't forget to apply, apply sunscreen. I was worrying about lathering my kids with the sunscree they supplied, and didn't use enough myself. I really didn't want to have to buy any there eithier.
We are going again on March 12th. I had friends that just went in Jan during there big cold spell, and even they said it wasn't so bad, but it would have been nice if it was warmer for them.
