I know that most people love Crocs. I have a pair of Beach (I think). I also have the kind with the fleece inside. I tried the Beach crocs once and got what the nurse at Disney called "croc bites" which was a very painful sore on the top of my foot. Because of this I haven't tried Crocs in the parks since. I usually wear Teva Mushes for my entire trip. We will be there in February. I know that night and maybe some days may be too cold for my Tevas. So, I would like to wear my crocs. My questions are has anyone else experienced the dreaded croc bite and is there anything that can be done. Do the fleece lined crocs do the same damage? or any other suggestions for comfy shoes? I also have trouble with my ankles. Usually by day 2 or 3 with my Tevas my ankles kill. Thank you!!!

I have had a croc bite too. (Never heard it called that--cute!) I have high arches and have all kinds of trouble with shoes. Two suggestions:
Maybe a stlye of Crocs that don't come up so high on the foot or I LOVE Merrells. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The first time I wore them on a day with a ton of walking I couldn't even believe that my feet didn't hurt one bit! That had NEVER happened before.

Thanks for the suggestions. What type of Merrells do you wear? sandles, athletic shoe or the "dressier" type. Some of the dressier are cute...others not so much. Thanks again.

I pretty much wear crocs everyday in the summer and whenever Im at a WDW park. I have never experienced croc bits.

I have experienced croc bites as well !! I solved this by using a product called glide you can find it at sporting good stores it help protect the skin from blisters to I guess runners use it. Hope it helps you.:thumbsup2 :cool1:

A little moleskin on the inside of the shoe where it rubs solved the problem for me.

I got these once on the sides of my foot when I wore a pair of official Croc-brand Crocs. It stunk to have to wear shoes and a bandaid the rest of the trip.

I like my Airwalk croc-style "crocs" from Payless though. They have a wider opening for the feet which doesnt give me blisters. So I just wear those to the parks. And theyre just as comfortable.

I am a nurse and I wear crocs exclusively to work. I do 12 hour shifts and have been wearing crocs for at least 4 years now. I have never had a croc bite, I think it just depends on how the shoes fit you. If you feel a pressure point, apply the mole skin sooner rather than later.

I have the Malindi's and they are like a slingback ballet flat. I am now a nurse but bought them last year when I was still doing hair. I'd wear them 9 hrs a day on my feet and never had an issue, and I have wide feet.

Was the sore spot on the top of your foot sort of inside near your instep where the edge of the show would rub when you step? Like if you drew a clock face on the top of the shoe, the sore part was at 10 or 11? If so, then just warm the shoe up in the dryer for a few minutes and then use your finger to stretch that part of the shoe out a bit so that it's not touching your foot when you step. I had that trouble and have to stretch all of my new Crocs a bit so they don't rub there.

Mareed, the spot was on the top of my foot. I guess at 12. If I stretch them, will they stay stretched even if they get wet? Thanks

So, do you put the moleskin on the shoe or foot? Does it stay on or fall off after a few hours?

That sounds similar to my sore spot (before I stretched the show). Yes, they'll stay stretched even when wet. I tried the body-glide and moleskin on the sore spot and neither worked because it just rubbed off from the shoe rubbing on it with each step I took. Stretching the shoe so it didn't rub anymore solved the problem for me! And I have to stretch each new pair like this.

Body glide totally did the trick for me. Its meant to reduce friction over a long period of time - worked like a charm. After my skin toughened up a bit, i never had the problem again.

I find that in my lined crocs, my feet tend to slide a tiny bit? That kinda bugs my feet. But, if yours dont, you could always try it!!
