Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Country Inn & Suites on S. Apopka Vineland Rd. in LBV. A friend and I will be there for 3 nights the end of May (Bad Mothers leaving family at home!). How far is it to the Magic Kingdom? Thanks for any info at all.:)

I haven't stayed at the LBV property, but it is just past Palm Parkway on Apopka-Vineland, about 5 mins drive from DD. It is a great location and if the Country Inn near Universal is anything to go by, an excellent place to stay - nice, clean and quite spacious rooms, decent breakfast and everything pretty new. Service was nothing special but overall it's pretty good vfm, IMHO.

We stayed there in Nov. 2002. Very nice hotel for the price we paid, $52 a night tax included. We (wife, 4yo & me) stayed in a room with a King size bed w/ a fold out couch. Plenty of room for us (6 nights). A nice contenital breakfast, the usual stuff, but what I really liked was you can also make your own waffles.

The only bad part was the pool, it sucked! It was small & plain jane, no atmosphere, but those weren't really the problems for us. The water was so darn cold!! The weather was even in the 90's for the first few days we were there. They advertise it's a heated pool everywhere but it wasn't then. We only went a couple times for short periods of time because the water was so cold.

The hotel is less then a mile from Disney's main entrance, which doesn't mean much. Downtown Disney is probably less then 3 or 4 miles. Magic Kingdom is quite aways, maybe 15-20 minute drive, Disney World is a big area!

Overall I think it's a *great* hotel, *if* a nice pool isn't that important. When we go again, we won't stay there just because of the pool.

Thanks for the replies and Welcome to The DIS chad! I've stayed at the Country Inn in Calypso Cay (new area) and the pool is great...."waterpark style"...zero depth entry and a slide with crabs shooting out some water....really pretty nice, especially for the kids. I couldn't pass up this other location 'cause we are getting it for $39/night and since we are splitting the cost and breakfast is included....well, you get the picture. We're only there for 2 full days, doing the MK one day and driving to Clearwater the other day. Can't wait! You've found a great forum with the DIS chad.....again, Welcome and Have Fun! :)
