Right now I have a connecting room with my sister's family. What are we giving up in the space where the door is? Are we going to lose closet space, counter space,...?
Are we better off getting rooms next to each other w/ no connecting door?

We just had a connecting room with someone we didn't know a few weeks ago. As far as I can tell- and I know that someone will correct me if I'm wrong :teeth: )- there was no difference in the amount of space. Just a door cut out where there would only be wall.

Now there is definitely more noise with the connecting room. Which is why I tried- unsuccessfully I might add- to move from this type of room. But if it's your sister's family you can just tell them to zip it if they are being too loud!!

Wish I could have! :rotfl:

bring bungee cords or something to tie open the door with it will keep swinging shut otherwise! the nice thing about connecting rooms was 2 bathrooms!
