?? About Checking Luggage & DME

I've used Magical Express many times before, but always hauled my luggage with me on the plane and to the bus.

One time, I left my suitcase on the bus thinking that it'd be transported to my room. Didn't happen and never saw that bag again.

I'm wondering if I check my bag at the airport if this is the correct process:

Check bag at departing airport (with tags of course)
Bag magically appears in room few hours later after I arrive

Is that correct, or do I have to take my bag on the bus with me when I arrive in Orlando?

You can use the ME tags for your checked luggage if you will be arriving before 10 pm. Disney will deliver those bags within 3-4 hours of you checking into your resort. If you arrive later than that you need to leave the tags off and collect your own bags, and then take them on the bus with you. Don't forget to collect them when you reach your resort.

Because of the time it takes to deliver bags, many people arriving any time in the evening forgo the tags so they don't have to wait until midnight or later for their stuff to show up.

Yes, that's correct. But.....be sure to pack your carry on bag with anything you may need for your arrival day, or the evening and next morning if arriving later in the day.
DME has a very good track record regarding getting bags to guests, but a bag could be misdirected by an airline. Having what you need in that carry on bag can be a lifesaver!!
