I was wondering what you received from Disney once you closed on a resale? I was told once you closed, it was as if you bought through Disney. There was no difference. What was sent to you after the closing?

Thanks

we just closed a contract from The TImeshare Store at OKW. I found out DIsney has us in their records as of last week. I am assuming we won't get anything from Disney (perks - if that is what you are asking) as we bought resale. I would assume we will recive a member handbook though showing point schedules etc. Since I already own at BCV I am not worried about receiving this. I would love to get my hands on a OKW lithograph though. DH would love that.

On May 5th we were able to make reservations on points from a resale contract that closed the week before. On May 11th, Disney sent a letter telling us that our deed was recorded on May 4, 2004 and that our documentation from this transaction will be sent to us from our closing company. This is the first piece of information regarding that contract that we've received from Disney.

This letter also states that our 2004 dues have been paid in full, but no other information about VB.

Since we already were members, I don't know if another member guidebook will be coming, but there should be official books with rules and regulations regarding VB DVC. Information about VWL came in a folder about 1 inch thick after we did an add on through Disney, and so I'm expecting something like that.

We got new ID cards a month or so after the resale closed. That was it.::MickeyMo

We closed on April 9. We got a "New Member Handbook" and a "Vacation Planner" book. Now, the interesting thing is that we got them with the sticker on them showing the name of the guide I spoke to when we were considering purchasing SSR. He called once after I purchased resale and I told him "Thanks, but no thanks...we bought a BWV resale". He said, "Great....enjoy it, and let me know if you ever want to add on." I didn't really know whether he would actually be "my" guide, since we didn't purchase from him...but, I guess he is!!! I think DVC is kind of particular about their record-keeping. We could not attend our scheduled DVC sales tour the last time we were in WDW (Dec. 2002), due to my DD having to be hospitalized on our vacation. Anyway, I was too distracted to think about "cancelling" our tour. When I called DVC in late Feb 2004 to request a DVC information packet, the person who answered the phone said, "Oh, I see you made a reservation for a sales tour, but did not show....might I inquire why?" Needless to say, I was more than a little shocked that 1) they kept me in their system, and 2) they had me down as a "no-show".

Anyway, so I am pretty sure that the two guidebooks I received were from my guide, and not DVC. I wasn't really sure of that until I read these posts. My guide (I guess he really IS my guide) said that sometimes the guides read this website. So, Gib McCain, if you're reading this...."THANKS...and, I REALLY want to add on"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
