Can you buy a resale through DVC? In other words, if you wanted to buy some extra points and people are selling them for $79 a point for example through the Time Share Store - does Disney do anything like that or do they only sell points at the full price?

By the nature of it. Disney only sells "direct". So, short answer is no.
It's either resale, or Disney.

Disney direct (DVC) actually offered me a resale - but it was quite a bit more than available through the traditional resale market (think almost double).

i decided to do resale. but with Disney, you can pay with a credit card, and there are no closing fees, ROFR, or waiting for closing for points to load. it is basically an overnight process.

if i dont pass ROFR, i may just bite the bullet and do it that way.

Unless you have a contract in for BCV at $60/point, I wouldn't sweat passing ROFR right now.

But disney doesn't sell "resales" as is commonly understood.
While DVC does have an inventory of sold out resorts, those points have been acquired either by disney exercising ROFR or by the buyers default.
Disney will sell sold out resort points, but they start at $80 and most are $90+. Disney refers to these (to current members) as add-on.

And I agree, almost nothing is being ROFR'ed ...at least until monday 3/21.

you think i will have a ROFR problem with VWL at $59.50 p/p? i got really nervous last night when i noticed there had not been any contracts on it that low. looks like the lowest that had gone through (pass or otherwise) in a while was $65+

just for FYI - DVC offered my VWL for $103 p/p

My best guess is that you'll pass. A year ago no one would have thought a BWV contract would pass in the $50's, yet recently they have. So long as your submitted to disney prior to this weekend, I'll bet you're in!

Kind of a semantics issue. Buying direct from Disney isn't a resale. But they do sell sold out resorts, from the inventory that they purchase back through ROFR.
