We are arriving at WDW on my husband's birthday. Can anyone tell me about the birthday buttons I have heard about and whether or not they are just for kids and if they can only be worn on the guests actual birthday. Also this will be my children's first visit to Disney. I have heard you can get a first-time visitors button as well. Is this true and where do I get them? Thanks so much. I am so excited about our upcoming trip and I want to be as prespared as possible to maximize our adventure! 4 months to go!

In Sept. we celebrated both my grandsons birthday and there first visit. We stayed at the Contemporary and we got them at the front desk when we checked in. It was my son and daughter in laws wedding anniversary then to, so we also got those buttons. It does not have to be right on their BD. Have fun.

Birthday buttons are for kids of ALL ages! You should be able to pick them up in the main "office" at each park. At MK that is City Hall. Can't remember off hand what it is at the other parks but a Cast Member will be able to direct you. They are near the entrance of each park. You may wear them every day. Disney believes you can celebrate your birthday for the entire time you are there!

I am not sure where you get the 1st time Visitor Buttons. I saw those for the first time this trip and I was so jealous!! They are too cute! I am sure someone will come along and answer that, but I am guessing that you would either get them in the same place as the Birthday buttons or you get them when you check into your Resort.

:welcome: to the DIS! I hope you take the time to register and stick around and get aquainted.

We have received our "1st Visit" and birthday buttons when we checked in at the hotel. As pp stated, any age can have a button. My Dad had one for 60! You get it on your first day regradless of the actual birthday. Wear it the entire week (if you want). The button is the same at the parks as the hotel. We found that out this past October when we took my son. He kept losing and breaking his button. Every time we got a new one it looked the same no matter where we got it. He was even given the same button my our server at Chef Mickey.

Are you staying at a Disney hotel? Make sure your reservation states that it is someone birthday. They will give you the button and send a card with balloons to the room at some point during your stay. Dining reservations should also indicated the birthday. Different places will make a big deal out of the birthdays, others not so much.

We got our at the resort when we checked in and again at magic kingdom at guest relations
have fun

Don't expect balloons and a card. If they are busy they won't be able to do it. If it happens consider it pixie dust. :)

You can sometimes get cards at Disney restaurants. My BFF got cards signed by the cast members at Rose & Crown Restaurant and Hollywood & Vine. She also got BD cupcakes. We got her a new button at each park, but I'm not sure they do individual buttons themed to each part anymore. I would definitely wear the pin though, she got lots of BD luv.

My Dad was given a card and the everyone sang happy birthday when we went to Donalds breakfast in the AK. Both my boys were given a cupcake and a special placemat at Chef Mickey at breakfast. Chef Mickey was the best for a birthday. They decorated the table and gave my son a special icecream at Tony's in the MK. He was also served a special icecream at the Trails End at the Fort.

We got ours at the first park we went to. We went to the Customer Service and asked for them. :)
We wore them everyday all day long!

It was FUN!
