My DD(16)'s HS choir is singing at Disney in April (Tuesday, 4/21 through Thursday, 4/26). We have tried to convince her that she wouldn't miss much by staying at Universal and we would drive her to WDW, but she won't buy it. Actually wants to hang out with her friends in the choir at WDW, rather than with her dear 'ol folks. Geez, kids these days
However, we have to have our Universal Fix!! We are home less than a week and already are experiencing serious withdrawal symptoms. I understand the only cure is to get another fix as soon as possible. This means that we will have to do our Universal fix either on the front end of her choir thing (4/15-4/21) or on the tail end (4/26-5/2).
Here is our dilemma. In April, does it really make any kind of difference in the week you pick? Since we have only tortured ourselves with vacations during the heat and humidity of the first week of August, (after swim team and before football practice), we have no clue about crowds, etc in April. Lower humidity, right?? I know we could be bumping into the tail end of Spring break season, so would appreciate any insight into whether it makes any real difference to do the Universal thing the middle of April vs the end. From last week's experience, we are aware that a week in some seasons can sometimes make all the difference in the world. example....Aug. 2 - 8, it was crowded, very crowded. Then last Monday (the 9th), The Mummy must have secured all those souls he wanted, because the place was empty. We were walking down Hollywood at 11:00am (from MIB) and had the place to ourselves. (Was wonderful though, to ride Mummy 4x in a row through the regular queue
- especially after waiting for 45 minutes in the FOTL line 2 days previous!)
So, I know it is only a week and a half difference, but if anybody has any insight as to whether it would make any real kind of difference to do the Universal Fix on the front end or tail end of the Disney thing, I would really love to know!
Thanks!!! Your help is much appreciated!
Thoughts are still with the FL residents affected by Charley. Hoping all is going well and everybody is safe!
