We are thinking of staying at Jambo. I need as much info as I can get. Are the value studios the same as a regular AKL hotel room with the kitchenette squeezed in? Are there value 1 bedroom villas and if so what is the difference between it and a standard 1 bedroom? Also, I read somewhere that all of the standard studios have a pool view. Is this true? Would love to see some pics of these rooms.
Any help will be appreciated! :)

The difference between the value units and standard units is that the value units are about 3 feet shorter on the balcony-side, which is why you don't have a sleeper chair in the larger units. I believe the parts of the unit with the kitchen-area and bathroom are the same in each unit type. I believe you can get either a savanna view, pool view or parking lot view but it is random, you aren't guaranteed a specific view with the value units.

I'm afraid I only have info on the studios, not 1 BR. I've stayed in a value studio 4 times, one time I switched from pool view to value studio (also pool view, just slightly smaller). Three of the value studios were pool view, last time I got a Sunset savannah view. Nicer savannah view than the time I got a savannah view deluxe studio. I've got lots of pictures of the value studio views-let me know if you want to see those-like I said, if you want a 1 BR, unfortunately I can't help you there with photos. No, you're not guaranteed a specific view, nor will they take view requests. I found that out just this morning when I reserved a value studio. However, they will take requests for a specific value studio, so I requested the one I know is savannah view.

Yes. They put the kitchenette into the space where the closet would be in a regular AKL room. They added a small armoire that is also used to store the ironing board and vacuum cleaner so there isn't much room to hang up your clothes. That's the one downside to the AKV studio, there is not as much storage space to hang up clothes or stash things away as you get in the studios at BWV, VWL, etc. Instead of two queen beds there is one queen bed and one full-size sleeper sofa.

Also, I read somewhere that all of the standard studios have a pool view. Is this true?
True for Standard View studios in Jambo House but in Kidani most of the Standard View rooms face the entrance road, the bus stop and parking areas. There are also some rooms that face the pool area.

The value villas are difficult to get at less than 11 months out. Because they require fewer points, members who own at AKV book them as soon as possible. Plus the time frame you are looking at is very popular with members, so getting a reservation at less than 11 months out for almost anything may be tough.

I guess I've been super-lucky. I've booked a value studio for the last 2 years at 7 months out. Well, actually I had to go on the waitlist both years, but that waitlist came thru in a matter of about a week. And today I called to add one day to my reservation, and at 6 months out, I had no problem getting that one night added.
