? about adding on points

Hi!! We just paid off our original 200 points, so of course I have to start thinking about adding on....just thinking. I was wondering how this works. Do you add on at the same property or a different one? If it's a different one, do you pay more than one monthly fee?? Are there different properties available? We have 200 at BLT. Thakns in advance for all your knowledge!!!

I would wait and stay at the resorts that interest you before you add on at a different resort. Adding on at a different resort gives you a 11 month booking advantage there, which IMHO is a good thing.

Say you have 100 points at SSR and 100 points at BLT can you use all 200 points 11 months out at either resort?

Would it not be advantageous to buy your total amount at as many different resorts as you could? Maybe try to get close to the same month.

if you want to use the add-on at BLT at 11 months out, you would need to add-on at BLT.

if you want the 11 month window for BCV or another property, you would add-on at a different resort. if you add 50 BCV pts, you can use banking and borrowing to book BCV with 150 BCV pts at 11 months out every third year.

at 7 months, you can combine pts from both contracts at different home resorts to book whatever is still available.

you can probably buy any DVC property direct from disney at this point. they will have earlier expiration or ending dates than BLT, however.

most of the properties can be bought more cheaply by resale, though. if the use year is the same and the contracts are titled the same, it will be treated as an add-on by DVC.

nope. as stated above, you can't cheat the 11 month window.

My original contract is at AKV, which I bought having only seen the model. I have since bought small contracts in BLT and BCV, never having stayed at either. Knowing myself, I can just tell that I will enjoy both for different reasons, so I didn't feel the need to experience it firsthand before buying in. I will love BLT for being on the monorail and being so close to MK. I will love BCV for the "beach" atmosphere (having spent a lot of summers at the Jersey Shore), Stormalong Bay, and it's short walk/boat ride to Epcot.

My plan is to bank/borrow on those small contracts so that I can get 11 month availability at BLT and BCV every 2-3 years. I have enough AKV points to get a week there every year.
