ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Maroo:

Absolutely amazing! What an incredible run of experiences for all of you. I'm so glad you got to witness these moments. The pictures really do tell the story.

bawling sitting at my desk.

WOW, just wow.

And I feel bad for the typical families having to wait… But then I catch the background of a picture like this and I realize that some of those people waiting are getting just as much out of watching this amazing encounter unfold as we are!

And I am reminded that all of us, I guess - at Disney, and in our regular lives - would benefit so much from worrying less about how long we were waiting in lines and focus more on the cool things going on around us…If I could just remember that the next time I get in the slowest line in the whole grocery store…to look around me…what cool things can I see while I wait. :)

What a great takeaway and so very very true!

Note to self: Lock all litterbugs away for life in the dungeon by royal decree.

Yes, please!

We were all stunned…and then he said it AGAIN…three times, my friends!!!

"Grilled Cheese, Please!"

Every time I see this picture, it just makes me want to cry…I love the look on Baker's face…but I also LOVE the look on Sarah's face! She is so happy for Baker!

Fantastic picture and fantastic moment!

AMEN! Everyone could use a little Disney in their attitudes!

What a great update Maroo! That Mickey really went above and beyond. My favorite part is when he waved off his handler, and made it clear that he needed to stay to see Baker. I wonder if you could write to Disney to commend the CM working that particular afternoon at DSH. (Although there were probably a couple of them.)

What an amazing update, Maroo. Like everyone else, I'm smiling and crying. It was great to see the even unfold in those pictures. You captured the whole thing beautifully. Personally, I love watching Disney magic unfold for anyone. Its what makes this place so special. :goodvibes

First off, you all (ya'll ;)) must of been shocked to hear Baker ask for the Grilled Cheese then to see this interaction with Mickey... :sad1: <-- happy tears!

Secondly, I think I could sit all day and watch kids reactions to characters or the magic of Disney. I love the pictures! They really show Baker connecting with Mickey and having a ball doing it! :goodvibes:goodvibes

The world would be a very drab place indeed devoid of color. Colors provide interest, perhaps even more so than texture or shape. Think about it. Red evokes a sense of danger or power, while yellow soothes and relaxes. Green brings to mind new life. Unless you feel you need to be politically correct, in which case it brings to mind billions of dollars of programs and policy. But I digress. After a perfectly splendid day touring AK and MK, I found myself still in need of satisfying the second of my goals for the evening.

Dusk, with its hues of teal and aqua, brings a new beauty and mood to the park.

While no less exciting, post-sunset hours at MK evoke a sense of calm to me, even in the otherwise frenetic environment of Tomorrowland. But, not only does it carry a calm with it, a different set of interests and sensory inputs engage me, through the media of a COLLAGE of colors in not one, but several, shows that burst forth during the nighttime hours.

The first on my rainbow –filled docket was to sit and drink in all the ever-changing shades of my castle. We’ve all done it; we all love it. I pulled up a prime piece of real estate, and contemplated long and hard as to which hue was my favorite- purple, blue, red, pink, orange?? Each one that comes along, I say, “That’s it! That one’s my very favorite!” And then it changes. “No wait! It’s that one; definitely that one!” But then it changes again. That internal struggle went on and on, and I drank in every color, every new nuance the castle presented with each passing minute.

It was bliss. The only thing that would have made it better was a softer seating arrangement. And a Dole Whip in my hand. (Quickly made mental note of that.)

Breaking my colorful reverie, my phone rang!! RING, RING!! By now, Day 3 of the trip, I had finally learned my lesson (definitely the hard way!), and perfected the imperative routine to charge the phone AND the POC at every opportunity, even going out of my way to do it.

It was Mary!! Our loose plan we made WAY early on was to join up for the MSEP and Wishes, one of only a couple chances the entire trip to catch them IN the park and up close…. IN ALL THEIR AMAZING SHIMMERY, SHINY BLINKING AND FLASHING COLORS AND SLENDOUR!

Ring, Ring….. RING, RING…. RING, RINGGG…..

“I’m glad you’re coming! But WHERE ARE YOU!??!...”

Umm,Ladies from our Salem meet, I hate to bring this up, but we have some unfinished business here. I was thinking about a certain phone call, and how fun to share and I realized our report is sadly stalled out! Whose turn is it?popcorn::

Sadly, it's in my court, but I was going to call Cynthia and ask her if she'd like to be POST HOST for the next chapter... She brought a pretty slick camera and it definitely saw some action. I have ZERO pictures from it.... I'll call soon!

First off, you all (ya'll ;))

That would be Y'ALL, Tim. :rolleyes1  I just like bustin your chops. :goodvibes

Maroo, how amazing was the interaction with Baker!!??!! I laughed and cried my whole way through it, mostly cried happy tears. Such a sweet moment. :lovestruc

And as for my H Liesa, thanks to Glennbo's TR :goodvibes....Hoop De Doo Revue and it's has to be near the horses.

GREAT! :headache: I get all caught up then you post another update???

HAHA!!!! ;)

You know my feeling of the castle at night... it is such a beautiful sight! I love the picture with the guys head popping out! :lmao:

Oh! She does have a nice camera! Did you and Camille report on your Sat doins' (as Mickey would say) and I missed it?

Hi Liesa,
I have finally started reading ...made it from U - Z , love your shopping trip around the world!
I must say, you are a very talented and funny writer! can't wait to have some more time to read on!

Liesa, I didn't even see the beginnings of your K post!:goodvibes Love the castle pics, and your thoughts about the changing colors. I know I've gone through those emotions, but never put them in to words, because I'm always running while looking backward at the castle and feeling like no one else will understand. Thanks for putting it in to words!

Now you have us on the edge of our seats...popcorn::

Liesa and Mary, thanks for the many wonderful updates! Your TR is moving along quite well at the moment while I don't have that much time for the DIS (just work but also lots of other nice events like weekends with friends, movies etc.). I really enjoyed your tales!

My guess for letter H is: Hoop de do Review and horses

I love watching the castle change colors and am so glad you got to take the time to really enjoy it! I usually catch it while waiting for something else and not just sitting there soaking it all in.

A cliffhanger - :faint:

Liesa, did I miss the drama posts??? Our little 15 1/2 old Maltese is in ICU, so it's been a bit intense here - we are not sure she will make it, so please hold our little one in prayer? And our 18 yr old baby as well - she is severely depressed without Jackie here (Gracie is a puppymill survivor and needs another furbaby around). It's been a full 24 hours in many ways.

Waiting....drama....;)

Nope, see no drama was missed. :) The castle pics are fabulous! Is this still the solo part of the trip? Thanks for gentle colors on a morning when it soothed my soul. ;)

I can be POST HOST however it seems there were a few things before I got there...like almost a whole day and assumed you'd want to post about those.

but yes, I did take pics :)
