ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Well, Your meal looks FAB!!! We have only eaten at Y&Y CS and not the TS. I would order that app in an instant! Sorry your dessert was bad. That probably left a bad taste in your mouth. ;)

Did you notice your shiitake has the ****.... GRRRRRRRRR

Truly it was tasty. It was served hot, and there was a nice variety. I"m really glad I was brave enough to ask for the Thai chili sauce; that really made it sing!

Yeah, paying that much for something, then having it go to waste really stinks. Think of all the $8 could have bought...

3 Strawberry bars, 3 Mickey bars, a pin, 1/3 of a toothbrush (;)), heck, for as many days asI had, I could have gotten another PARK DAY!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Yeah, and that shiitake is bleeped is pretty assinine. (yes, I know it only has one s)

Liesa, Camille, Tammie and Cynthia: thanks a lot!!! :goodvibes

Liesa, great Y&Y update. I once again loved your writing style, you really need to write a book one day. And your review of the cream cheese wantans was just exactly how I expected to react to this dish. It never did sound good to me, but I guess I would have ordered it as well since so many people love it so much. What a shame that not even the pineapple was good...

I think we have one, if not 2 more chapters for our DISMeet- the day Camille and I had while Tammie was at her Arbonne party, and our grande finale dinner. I need to talk to Cynthia about pix- she was the only one there who took the majority of the pictures.

Thanks, Magdalene! I'm having a lot of fun with the chapters; good thing a few of you still enjoy reading them! :thumbsup2

I confess, it was the power of peer pressure that led to this dessert disaster. Some ya win, some ya lose.

And you're right, I was sad that even the pineapple, which would have been a nice finish was too sour- even with dipping it in the vanilla sauce.

Great Yak & Yeti review Liesa! I love the decor there, don't you? I was especially taken with all those gorgeous lights on the ceiling. DH kept laughing because I kept taking pics of them.

We had a ho hum experience there as well. Food was pretty good, not great and they messed up my DD11's sorbet that came sprinkled with coconut which she is VERY allergic to (we carry Epi-pens always).

Anywho, your appetizer looked scrumptious though! Bummer about the dessert. That would've irked me too not just due to the price but I hardly ever eat dessert at home so vacation is a real treat! I want it taste goooood!

Looking forward to your next adventure!:thumbsup2

I didn't even notice the lights! Huh! And I was usually pretty good at seeing them for Leslie. Ah well...

:scared1: On the coconut!! That was a pretty blatant mess up- well, if you'd told them. If not, and she'd eaten some, that's why there's Epi-pens. Scary stuff that!

ANd I TOTALLY know what you mean about desserts being GREAT! I only cook dessert about once a week, at best, and what I DO order I want to be outrageously great!

Next adventure coming up soon! We have one bit left of AK, then onto the afternoon somewhere else...

Thanks for the Yak and Yeti review! I usually try and avoid eating at places with "Yak" in the title, especially when they serve ****y mushrooms. But I'm glad you enjoyed the meal! (sorry about the ****y dessert)

Yeah, I almost cracked a bunch of jokes about "Yak" too, but I just couldnt'; the food was too good. Well, all except that legitimate yacking I did over the pineapple, which truly deserved an astericked title.

Letter E is only making a limited appearance! If you haven't gotten your guess in for our Special Guest Star- Letter E- then by all means, please PM your guess to me by today :)

Your sponsor thanks you!

I think that's the first bad review I've ever read of the cream cheese wontons. Maybe they were having an off day. :confused3

That's a great view, though. I didn't realize the window tables were so cool.

I think it was just me... I should have known better that I just don't care for uber rich desserts. It was like eating choco ganache cake with chocolate sauce drizzled all over it with ice cream. Ah wellll... live and learn.

Ahhh.... that view was something! So soothing! :cloud9:

Time to close out Letter E, and move on to the next one.

Letter E gave me a chuckle. When the first guess came in I was totally not expecting Ellen's Energy Adventure to be the given answer! When I gave you the photo clue of the VERY obvious "EPCOT", I was thinking Electric Umbrella, which in fact, was quite near to where the picture was taken. So, if you guessed EPCOT along with Ellen's or Electric Umbrella you got it!! Great job everyone!! I am feeling rather generous today, so, I'm even going to accept Spaceship Earth; but for future rounds, the FIRST word has to start with the Letter of the Day.

Now, I need to just tell you, this round is very important. And because so, I'd like answers PMd to me.

So, here is your photo clue for Letter F:

What is being hidden by the Streetmosphere car??

And SECONDLY, what is something found nearby that also starts with F?? This is not a descriptive word, but rather an actual noun.

Good luck, and have a Magical Day!!

The Adventurer was pleased with her day so far, and was ready to enjoy some more of her day. Slightly irked at dessert, she strode out of the Yeti looking for interesting sights. She didn’t go far before she heard happy thrumming coming from these colorfully regaled men.

LiesasWDWPix2010155.jpg

LiesasWDWPix2010156-1.jpg

What a completely alluring and magical rhythm; one can’t help but want to become part of it. It wasn’t long before the Adventurer found herself bobbing along, oblivious to the odd stares she might be drawing. Soon, she noticed that most of the other Adventure Seekers around her were blithely clapping to the throbbing of the drums and other percussive instruments and that the children seemed to be most giddy with enthusiasm.

LiesasWDWPix2010154.jpg

By now, The Adventurer had completely forgotten the Dessert Disaster, and was now headed somewhere she had never gone to, or seen, before. The mystery of exploring someplace completely unknown is always cause for much anticipation. Actually, she had one very specific motivation and destination for this endeavor, but that comes a bit later.

Toot, toooooot, went the Wildlife Express, as it clickety-clacked along the track towards:

LiesasWDWPix2010158.jpg

Along the way she enjoyed the backstage scenery of the rhino cages, and some other pretty boring sights. The only entertainment came when the train conductor had to repeatedly tell the more belligerent guests to sit down. But soon enough she and the other adventurers arrived at their Destination.

LiesasWDWPix2010160.jpg

LiesasWDWPix2010162.jpg

What would our heroine find there?? Would there be enough to entertain her for the next hour? Let’s find out…

Immediately after disembarking the train, The Adventurer set out on the trail towards:

LiesasWDWPix2010171.jpg

Along the way, she was highly intrigued by the more genuine wildlife along the way. Stopping to smell the roses is one thing, but stopping to meet the challenge of photographing a moving target is quite another, and she perhaps set the world’s record for the amount of bad shots taken in attempts to get a clear picture. In the end she was successful, and ended up with these:

LiesasWDWPix2010182.jpg

Not only was there the wildlife that was truly wild, there were also a few animals on exhibit as well. The Adventurer took on a mildly melancholy mood as she contemplated that the monkeys would be so much better off in the habitat that was created for them.

LiesasWDWPix2010166.jpg

LiesasWDWPix2010169.jpg

Nearby was a game meant for 4 year olds that naturally she played. Hidden in a “backyard garden” were smaller critters such as frogs, newts, butterflies and centipedes. The job of the player was to find them all, and a sticker would be the reward. The Adventurer is easily pleased, so was happy with her prize.

Ambling on, she eventually came to:

LiesasWDWPix2010170.jpg

Truly, if there is only one reason to get to Rafiki’s this mural is it (well, among one other.) Hidden somewhere in there are a whole bunch of HMs, but the Adventurer didn’t pause long enough to hunt this time, knowing that some things are best left for another day.

She always knew that she was one of the:

Along with these:

LiesasWDWPix2010180.jpg

But, as cool as all the animals are, that was not the prime objective of traveling here at all. This was:

LiesasWDWPix2010173.jpg

Magdalene, a good friend of our intrepid subject, mentioned these little beauties long ago, and of course proved too rich a target to pass up. How utterly appropriate and hilarious to find them on the back of the bathroom stall doors!!!

And speaking of this subject, The Adventurer came across a very interesting exhibit led by a couple of biologists. On display were little dishes of poop.

LiesasWDWPix2010174.jpg

Ok, not really.

They were little dishes of animal food, but it wasn’t long before she and the biologists were having a lot of fun joking around about how “What goes in, comes right back out.”

I’ll leave you with something a bit nicer to look at.

LiesasWDWPix2010179.jpg

Haha, The Adventurer threw those in to trick you, just like they did her. They look good though, don’t they??

Next up: H is for: Who knows. I make the titles up as I go along.

Nice update, Liesa. We've not done Rafiki's Planet Watch since the last time both boys were with us at Disney and that was in 2000! :scared1: I think Mark and I will have to try to fit it in during our September trip.

I do enjoy watching the men and their drums. :goodvibes

I need to hunt down those scoop on poop signs the next time I'm there. Are they different on every door? I like the shot of the lily pads... but I can't tell, are those real or fake? :confused3

I really had no plans to venture out there, but when I knew I'd have at least 2 more days there with LeeAnn and Mary, AND after Magdalene posted about the poop posters, I knew I had to go. I"m glad I did. ANd if you think this was a good update.... well, JUST YOU WAIT!! I have THE COOLEST stuff EVUH coming up on our group day there. Yes, I actually went back!

I really do enjoy drumming. Going to West Africa is on my bucket list near the top.

I don't know. I only had to go potty once. :confused3 THat will be your next adventure finding out, Jen. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

No, those lillies are actually fake right out of China likely. I totally thought they were pretty until I looked a little closer. They lost a bit of luster after that. But the picture was taken...

Hey, this looks like that salted camel curd that someone gave me once upon a time. ;)

I had to laugh at the "toot toooot / clickety clack" section of your writeup this time around. I felt like I should be reading it out loud to a small child.

It's been a number of years since I've been out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. (And I'll be okay not returning for a while. ;) )

OH my! It does have a striking resemblance! Do you think there are sweet little old grandmas all over AK hand rolling these little numbers??

I had to laugh at the "toot toooot / clickety clack" section of your writeup this time around. I felt like I should be reading it out loud to a small child.

So, I did well at giving you that "Little Engine that Could" feeling then?

Not even for those really awesome posters?? :confused3;)

yeah...

well...

yeah. Nevermind.

:tiptoe:

so...I am back!!1

Finally with one night at my house and nothing else to do.

I have not read the chatter...so I am not sure if this was already said...

But we are fine here in Jackson, MS - small tornadoes just south of here, but no major damage.

My parents had some issues in AR, but they are all ok, too!

Many prayers for all of the people out there dealing with the storms...horrible, horrible!! Reminds me too much of Katrina!

Liesa - Your updates are SOOOOO awesome!!

Loved the butterfly pic!! I love me some butterflies!!

Even that rat looking thing is pretty cute.
