ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

oh my, that's a rough morning!

Although it sounds like you were the only one who was really lost

:rotfl:

I can easily see that happening with the tickets, what a drag!

It's usually like that...:lmao: Ah well, glad they were having a nice time chewing the fat while I was wandering. :rotfl:

Actually, the ticket thing all turned out well, in the end. But you'll have to wait for that to unfold.

I'm with you. Here's how much of a dweeb I am: my senior year of college I had a lot of time in-between classes on some afternoons, and it was too far to go back to my apartment. So instead I used to go to the library, get some Scott Joplin recordings and the sheet music, and listen while following along. Too bad I can't play piano (although I can play other instruments).

You should have just looked at your pictures....isn't that them behind Mary Poppins, heading that-a-way?

I bet you didn't think your nostalgic trip would take you back to when you were 4 years old and lost in a department store!

OH my, that IS dweeby!! Big time. But I'd have gladly joined you- as dweeby as I am. But I gotta say, when I see "recordings"- boy, youse as old as I am. :rotfl2:

DOH!! :headache: Looky there!

How'd you know I did that??

Awww, I can totally understand the "lost" feeling. There have been a few times where I have lost sight of the family for a few seconds and I get hot by the panic. There was a similar "lost" incident on our recent trip but I haven't gotten to that part yet. ;)

Ok, I'll be looking for your "Lost" story soon!! Definitely a panicky kind of thing!

No worries L, if anyone knows about Life getting in the way of DISing, I do....hope your day is better

Well, HI to you too! WOW!! Been a while!

My psych instru. is blow hard who is cramming her liberal agenda fist over fist down our throats with every opportunity she has. It's sickening. The ethical thing to do is teach relevant material in a non-biased way. Period. I really should file a formal complaint, but will hold off to see what unfolds. UGH!

Next week is conception-birth, complete with a birth video. I really feel sorry for the 18 year guys in there! I really, really do!

History on the other hand is interesting, but I'm pretty tired of covering Sumererian culture AGAIN. Seriously, I"ve had this multiple times: a full year in HS, and at least 2 courses in college. Man, I wished I had gotten an A the first time around and I'd be $400 richer today. (the cost of this course).

Anyway, it's not hard... so far.

Oh Liesa, sorry - it will be a long term. Mark and Lindz went through open persecution at SOU for being Christians and conservative. I think the liberal school system breeds more of the same in most cases - I'm not against them having opinions, but I think the facts should be shared, and the students should not be penalized for having differing opinions.:sad2:

No worries L, if anyone knows about Life getting in the way of DISing, I do....hope your day is better

So nice to see you "peepin" around - we have missed you around here and continue to pray for you!

This must be THE LOST Week as Dan and I LOST one of the consumers not once but twice in Cedar Point !!!:scared1:Actually to be more accurate it was MOI!!!!!:rotfl2:He turned up within 15 minutes each time , but I learnt that I have a strong heart as the HEARTATTACK I had each time did not end me up in the ER!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:scared1::scared1::scared1:
That HAD to be scary!! WHOA!! So glad you're still with us Rosie!! I hear a scare like that, though is actually beneficial to your heart ;)

It's never any fun when you lose your family. Been there done that many times!! I even handed off my 4 year old son to my husband last Christmas to grab something off the stroller and he left our 4 year old behind to follow me!! :scared1: Luckily we didn't go far and a CM actually was just starting to talk to my DS when I realized what happpened. Thank goodness everything was ok. Now my DS has been taught to go up to someone with a name badge or a mommy with kids if he loses us and I test him repeatedly when we are in the parks. Hopefully you still have a magical day even though you are still in Disneyland not DCA!!

I also meant to tell you before you went my family has a stone between the parks (near the Disneyland side). Even though we ended up not getting to meet it would have been fun to see someone else take a picture with our stone.

That's always the first thing I taught my kids during out DCA/WDW trips- LOOK for someone with a badge! Never had to use it, but it give me a bit of peace of mind.

Glad your situation turned out well- no one needs the stress of a lost child at Disney!

And I sure would have been willing to get those pictures for you!! I did lots of favors while I was there, and had a lot of fun in the midst of it all.

Great update, but I am sorry that the morning started with so many not so nice incidents! :scared1:

How funny that Glenn spotted your mother and your aunt in your pictures!! :rotfl:

In the end it all worked out, and we had a great time. HOpefully, I can get an update in the works soon- both for this trip and the other.

Yeah, I can't even believe it! What a hoot! :lmao:

Uh oh. Was there a sudden announcement about the Haunted Mansion now having 1,001 souls inside?

This is a very distinct possibility!

I don't think this has ever happened to me. What does it feel like? :confused3

Terrible!

D'oh! Sorry for all the struggles on this morning. It can only get better from here. Right? :scared1:

hmmm..... we'll see... :rolleyes1 (Then again, we ARE past the IaSW incident and getting lost, AND realizing that did not have PHs, so chances are pretty good.)

:scared1:

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hey, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm just as thrilled to see you here, GB!!

Oh, gosh...that lost feeling is the worst and something I still remember distinctly from childhood. I'm with you on that one. But I'm sure the day turned around. And who doesn't love ragtime? We play music at breakfast at our school every morning (classical and jazz mostly) and every spring, we break out the Scott Joplin and the kids ask why we're listening to carnival music! :lmao:

I have this very vivid memory of once being at an airport dropping my father off for a flight, and reaching out for someone's hand. I looked up to say goodbye to me dad, and it was NOT. HIS. FACE!!! I was holding someone else's hand and I was really frightened.

I think ragtime has to be up there on my most favorites list, right next to bluegrass or celtic. I wish they had a all-eccletic station on like they do rock or country. I love to listen to old Patsy Cline, and Judy Garland, and even The Kingston Trio. I guess that's why we have iPods.

Oh NO, I'm sorry you had such a dreadfull start to your day. But I'll bet you end up having a great one! At least I hope so!

I can remember getting separated from my parents when I was a child at 6 Flags, and it was the worst feeling ever. I don't care how old you get it's still scary and frustrating.

Terri

One can always hope... ;)

It is scary, and more than that is WAS frustrating. There's very little I hate worse than "wasting time" at Disney! Wandering around= wasting time. Sitting on a bench listening to ragtime does not. :headache:

Oh bother! What an absolutely frustrating start to your day!

AMEN!

Jordy!!!:woohoo:

AND GB!!

Being lost IS one of the worst feelings.......that is until you see the person your lost from (my grandmother) drive off without you from the grocery that you had just been shopping in. :scared1:
Yup, I was probably about 7 or 8 and thought I was going to lose my mind!! Remember how Sully looked when he thought Boo was being flattened, chomped and put into a square....yup, that was pretty much me seeing my grandmother see the last of her groceries into the car, get into her car, and drive away. :faint:
Needless to say it didn't take her long to realize I wasn't with her and she came back to get me. She said I had been too quiet that day! Trust me, I never made that mistake again!! I've been a talker ever since! :rotfl: You can't shut me up!! Just ask Liesa. ;)

:rotfl2: I can't believe Glenn spotted your mom and auntie Cherie in the picture!! Now that's classic! :lmao: I'm sorry you felt lost and afraid though, that always stinks.

Haha, we drove away once leaving Mikki behind at the front door on our way to church one day. We only got to the end of the street when we realized our dreadful mistake. I think she'll be scarred for life over that one- she still remembers it!

Yeah, there they are... :sad2:

:lmao: What a moron.

It's okay - we did that to Ryan when he was 3 in Okinawa, too.
Then when he was almost 5 he got lost at a store there for a long time - had to call the MPs to find him - he had gone out to the car to wait for me. No wonder he thinks I play favorites. :rolleyes1

Hello Ms. Liesa. :wave2:

Seems like my schedule is just as crazy as yours!

I've always wanted to see Cirque but have never made it. I don't even think they allow kids at the Disney one. I know Juliana would be able to sit through it... she has been to broadway plays before. Maybe we will make it there someday...

Your night on the Poly beach watching Wishes and the EWP sounds like a perfect evening to me! Add a frosty cold beverage and some sushi- WOW!

How sweet of Mary getting those pillow cases for you!

Love all your DL pics. I do hope to make it out there someday. What a bummer with the TIX. I can see that happening to me (I always seem to have ticket drama:headache::mad::headache:)

Geez! I know I haven't been on the DIS much when I miss a WDW and DL update!

I am so happy to hear that school is going better for Anara!

Sounds like you really enjoyed La Nouba! We saw a Cirque show several years ago and I just didn't get it. Apparently though, it was one of the more abstract ones and I probably would have benefitted from some research. Mary - sorry about the camera distraction! That would have driven Jason and Jordan crazy too - I am convinced they both have ADD.

So glad you took time to enjoy some of the perks of staying at the Poly! Wow - empty chairs and a water pageant/Wishes combo - how lucky and fun! That sushi take out did look a bit strange!

Love the pillowcases! Hope you have photos later in the TR with autographs on them. I almost forgot about your Mickey Head wishes.

What a rough start to your DLR day! I hope it gets better and the four of you get to enjoy the day. I love when nice CM's come to the rescue! I really want to enjoy Main St on our next trip and slow down and take time to enjoy the Main St Characters, the Dapper Dans, watch a cartoon at Casey's, etc.

Sorry life is so busy and you feel pulled in so many different directions! I am feeling that way now too. I am helping my DH start his own business while working full-time doing my job and half of someone else's job who is on medical leave plus being a mom, wife, and volunteer for various things. Long story short - do what you need to do we all understand and will be here waiting.

Just keeping up Liessa !! Hope all your classes go well !!! My Dis time has been down soooo much lately , 3 trips in 6 weeks will do it !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:Anywho after Disney I should be a little "freeer" is that a word !!I am sure Dan would use it in Scrabble :lmao::lmao:Can't believe how quickly this trip is approaching !!!:banana:

Popping in to say hi! I'm still reading along, though typically in big, belated chunks. I loved the Tate updates! And Mary, welcome back -- sounds like you've had your hands full, but for such good reasons!

Liesa, sorry the beginning of DL day 2 was so frustration-filled! I'm going to bet it got better, though...

I'm looking for an article on the changes at CA, and I came across this adorable of Walt Disney at DL in 1958!

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...ney-dances-the-night-away-at-disneyland-park/

I can't find the article - It was on Facebook a couple of days ago??? Anyway, I was surprised to see the entrance to CA will now look just like the entrance to DHS! I guess it makes sense - HOLLYWOOD! There will be no big blue hat, it will have a street with iconic shops or something.

This is not the one I saw first, but still fun: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2011/08/buena-vista-street-from-a-birds-eye-view/

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great weekend. My new job kicked my butt this week, only because I have trouble sleeping at night and then had to get up at 4am:eek: Like the job, though. Next week I will have my 10-3 schedule, so I will be human again!:rotfl2:

My DISBuddies!

You're probably wondering where in the HECK I've gone! Let me just say, this week has been probably the most emotional, wonderful week in my life- next to my own wedding week. I can't share any details... yet, but just know that there are some very happy people in my world right now, and as parents we are highly involved.

As if school and family weren't keeping my busy enough, now I have this... which has been keeping me up laaaaaaaaaaaate at night doing "mom talks". I'm sure you can all read between the lines, but I must ask you to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT mention, hint or even comment about this on FB if you know me there. It is really important as the news has not been broken to our local friends, and some we know will be less than supportive.

But do secretly rejoice with us and please continue to be patient as I ivest in the life of one of my kids during this critical juncture in life.

Again, miss you all terribly much!

Liesa

We will be here when you are ready to spill the good news but :goodvibes:goodvibes in the mean time.
