ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Liesa posted on FB that she found her laptop!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay:

I am glad your mother/daughter powwow went well!

I really, really hope I can get on here later today, and get to replies; on my laptop that was finally found!! I do have the next chapter written and ready, and now I hear Mary is sick. So in the interest of keeping this Tr going and all, I will just go ahead and continue- she can catch up when she can.

I finally, FINALLY have some inspiration for my blog as well, so am motivated to write for that. So much to do....

Anyway, in addition to getting some writing today, I want to get some berries picked and ready for jam, and I MUST get to the grocery store :)

I'm glad to hear the laptop turned up today. I'm sure the first you wanted to do was back up all of the pictures. :goodvibes

I received my prize for round 1 and I love it. Thank you so much!

Honestly, I've not lost sleep over an issue (s) like this in a very long time. Every parent deals with kid stuff; I'm no exception. Glad to know I can count on others to hold me up! THANKS!!

Well, it's been just one of those days...

Our little mother/daughter pow-wow went very well; hard, but very well.

But when I went to find my Acer (laptop) this AM to post, I found it to be

GONE!!!!!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Simply gone. Every picture from California is on there, as I hadn't backed up yet!! Gone (as of right now) are all the pix from Disneyland, us ladies together at the Embarcadero, everything.

I am devastated. And frankly too emotionally spent right now to spend any time here. Reconcilliation is tough business, and losing pictures is another blow today.

Hopefully, I can get to a couple of threads later, and until Mary posts I can't anyway. If I can't I'll have to write it all over, and look for the pix from that trip here on hubby's laptop.

Feeling spent and discouraged,

Liesa

My goodness, what a roller coaster of events. I hope that you're resting and kept your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times. This too shall pass. :goodvibes

All of this stress sounds like a good excuse to go out for ice cream! :thumbsup2

Stuffed silly, it was time to pull some late hours with our first jaunt into MK as a group of women on a mission: a mission to squeeze as much fun as we could out of a week. The park was open until 2:00 AM, and it was already 10:30 by the time we walked out of ‘Ohana- WAY later than we had hoped for when planning our Week o’ Freedom. The original plan had called for a 6:40 ADR, remember?

So what would our first official ride be after we walked into the park at 10:54? Why the monorail, of course! And the most important question of the hour was what color would it be?? This was important stuff because the answer to that has some very high stakes! Many of you put in your guesses, and the color that pulled into the station to whisk us away high above Reality below was

DisneyTrip2010145.jpg

Blue!

Not lime, as we had hoped, but blue. Which is great because a few of you actually guessed that! Hmmm… consulting my (occasionally) trusty Excel spreadsheet, I can say that Rosie, Jenb1023, Vanessa and Dan scored a point for question #3! Hooray for you 4!

The park was basically already emptying out, and we enjoyed several rides.

I don’t even remember all that we did, but do know we made a left turn off of Main Street, as the bulk of my photos are from there; in fact, I think I must have only had the POC (that does NOT stand from Pirates of the Caribbean) out on Splash and ended up with a veritable montage of shots from there. And yes, I did have my flash on (some things never change). We can begin a debate on this if you want, but basically, my thought is that if I’m the only one on the ride, (I had already asked my party if they minded) then I’m using my flash. I turn it off or don’t bother to take pix if there are any others on the ride. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

Somewhere in there we took in a Jungle Cruise where we saw the backside of water and the backside of a rhino, and took a spin on the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness. That will be important for question #4 eventually….

We made many comments about how cool it was to be in such an empty park. Little did we know that there would be MANY days and evenings with such conditions!! September is a great time to go! Almost everything was a walk-on, and we were definitely loving it; yet we were also getting tired, and the second wind was just not blowing. LeeAnn had traveled all day long, and Mary and I had toured the parks already for many hours; try as we might to close down the park, by 1:15 or so we started heading for the exit.

Along the way however, the late night hours afforded some very exceptional opportunities for capturing the beauty and color in and on the castle. Bear with me as I present- “WAY Too Many Pictures In and Of the Castle”, brought to you today by Chevron- “We’ve got gas!”

Good old “Blue” took us back to our tropical home and we took a moment to take stock of where we stood on wish making. Mary had written hers out by now, and they looked something very much like this:

We quickly fell into bed ready to dream happy dreams of Magical days together at the Happiest Place on Earth.

I hope you have a magical day as well!

Yippee I scored a point!!!!! :cool1::banana: (Let's hope it is not my only one!)

Even though you got a later start than you had hoped for, it looks like you got a lot accomplished. Love the empty park photos and am glad to hear that was a theme for the week. Looking forward to see if Mary's wishes come true!

I agree with you. You can't really flash by yourself....it's like a "tree falling in the forest" kind of thing -- "If you flashed and no one saw it, did you really flash?" The answer is "no".

I think this is the first time I've seen a picture of these buzzards. Nice job!

So it was like "ooo, it just changed colors....gotta take another picture"?

You are one well-spoken Biscuit.

I would say I was brilliant in my BLUE answer ,but I just guessed . However I will take the point, thank you very much:rotfl2:

Awesome greeting, Camille!

May i also add Happy 4th to everyone!!!!

Thanks! :)

Sorry I missed your call the other day! I will try to call tomorrow. But not sure when; please pray for me as some things are coming down the pipeline that are a bit difficult to deal with.

No worries, we connected, and of course I'll be praying. :goodvibes

I hate that you went through all of this, but as Capt.O said....this too shall pass...and it will, promise. In the mean time, we've all got your back. Call any time you need to vent, scream, cry or talk. ;)
I knew if you could find your wedding ring after all that time, you'd find your laptop. :yay:

Dang, I got another wrong answer. :headache:

You got some great pictures, Liesa, and I'm surprised how long you all lasted considering the long day you all had.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: exactly - I have done that soooo many times. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yup! :goodvibes After everyone started leaving the park, I sat at the table next to Sleep Hollow with my funnel cake (that I made sure I got right before they closed) and camera taking oooooh, I don't know, maybe close to 20 pictures. All the while my daughter saying......"Mooooom! When are we gonna leave?!?" And me saying...."Oh! Look at that color! I don't think I took a picture of it in that color!" :rotfl:

Here are a few of my favorites.....

Well, congrats to you point getters for BLUE! :cool1:

Sept. is my favorite time in the parks. :thumbsup2 I just read "The Kingdom Keepers" Sounds like weird things happen in an empty park....pirate: ;)

Liesa, I'm glad you found our laptop and your mother-daughter time was fruitful.

Hi Camille! I love these castle pics!:thumbsup2

Just wanted to let you all know that I"ve FINALLY added a new chapter to my blog! I was shocked that it had been since January that I've written for it, but frankly just wasn't inspired. But over the weekend, someone tried to challenge me (or probably rather try to make herself look good) over all her "hard work" of camping for re-enacting. I was pretty amused that she tried to convince me that I knew nothing of the meaning of "hard work", and perhaps she had forgotten who she was talking to. :confused3

I did not write what I did to make myself look better or pull a "holier than thou", but was simply inspired by her comments. A flood of "hard work" memories came back to me, and now have many things I think I am ready to share...

Hope you enjoy....
