ABCs of a Nursing School Grad Trip + FL Keys Mini Report;D is for: Dang! Last Chapter of this TR...

Lovely photos and narrative of Main Street. How nice you have a history with generations old and new. I just adore Main street like you. I am never in a hurry. When I need to go to a place of inner calm in life. Main Street is my togo.

I do wish more people would duck into the hidden away places on Main Street. There are so many places where Disney displays its art and history, has little historic animations playing, one-of-a-kind shopping, but more than just shopping, artisans actually working. I just love it.

They changed the sign in WDW so that it now says Magic Kingdom and not The Magic Kingdom I heard recently.

Oh, good to know! I hadn't heard that!

Love those vehicles. Plus those ballloons. Soon be in the hand of some excited guest.

I've have never in my life bought one, but they sure are fun to see and photograph. :)

Love the halloween balloons in the evening too! Great firework shots.

YES! Nice touch with the party specific balloons. Main Street becomes even more magical during a Halloween party.

Thank you for the walk down Main street. I adore the smell. Sweet popcorn, horses ... An explostition from a parade.

Oh you're very welcome! I"m so glad you enjoyed it. And yes!! I"m looking forward to the MSEP on this trip I'm headed to! Squeeeeee!!!

This is so true. I think that is why it is such a great escape (both Disney and Disney with Booze lol)

See?! ;)

So glad to hear it!! I was worried.

All's well that ends well. (Phew! Majorly dodged a bullet there!)

Love your Main St. pics. And you are right...you don't want to "skip" it...sadly there never seems to be enough Disney time to take it in properly. I find that on entry, you are always in such a panic to beat the crowds to the rides...and on exit you are usually too wiped out to be able to appreciate everything properly...or maybe that is just me lol. I need a loooong Disney vacay...with enough time to really enjoy the details and not rush around!!

I think a long trip makes all the difference in the world for seeing things one normally wouldn't. You'd be amazed at the little details there that are too often over-looked. But, yes, sadly, I get the rush on the front end and the exhaustion at the other... hard to burn the candle at both ends sometimes.

I love the trip down Main Street!

I have to say, I am still not used to CMs with beards.

Neither am I yet... I think this one's gonna take some time. :/

I hope she's doing better now that you're heading out. Glad you made the trip to care for her!

Liiiittle by little... this is a sllooow road! We're all anxious to hear the results of the genetic blood disorder tests.

We have no use for such labels here!

Yes, except you put me in one a little further down. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Duly noted!

But I hear your kids do dishes. Wanna leave a couple with me sometime? I promise not to lose them.

Man. This place is sliding even further down my list, if that was even possible.

I'm afraid there's not BBQ on the menu. So that probably takes care of the remaining 1%.

I think Pat looks like she's trying to pretend she doesn't know him.:rolleyes1

IKR?! :lmao:

That's just plain amazing. I forget my own kids' names.

But at least you can count. :teacher:

:rolleyes2

Well, it just indicates which category you fit into.

See? Toldja.

Then again, there was a Peanut Gallery category too. :joker: (You realize you were pictured as the leader when I said that, right?)

Well, you can't. It's the only way to get to the rides.:rolleyes1

I didn't say I skipped OVER Main Street. And yes, I have been known to skip ON Main Street. Just don't skip OVER it either.

Geez Louise, these prepositions are dicey things aren't they?

That one turned out really neat!

Thanks! I like the layers I got in it.

Someday, I'll get to leave without little kids who are way past their bedtime, and I'll agree with you.

From one of those "on the other side", enjoy what you've got now... it's over all too soon. (Not that breaking stride to change a diaper ain't bad either!)

Very striking!

Thanks! :)

Have a great time storming the castle, and tell everyone I said hi!

I will certainly do so! Wish you could have joined us!

I love this!! I guess I didn't realize you worked at Blue Bayou. Did you like it? I still dream of working at Disney, maybe for my retirement job :-)

I LOVED my job at Disney! It was fantastic. But just like any other job, I left tired at the end of the day and rarely went back into the parks for fun. Sure, sometimes, but not often. But they paid well, were flexible with college classes and hours and the co-workers were fun. I would LOVE to work there again, but unless I move to Florida...

Fantastic pictures!!!

Thanks! :)

I am in love with this photo. absolute perfection

That one was super fun to see on the laptop when I started editing them. You never know until you get that far.

Have so much fun!!! wish my trip to DL was just a month earlier so I could see you guys!

That'd sure been fun! Hopefully someday it'll work out to trip together. :)

And she's humble too... :rolleyes1

Well, I had to set up the story. I mean who drops a basic chem class 3 weeks in if they've been doing pretty well up to that point?!

Anyone can be smart. Not everyone is wise. Clearly, I was missing the mark.

I'm sure your experiences there were something out of a movie. Maybe a mixture of horror and history, but a movie nonetheless.

I've contemplated writing a book many, MANY times. I have the heart, but lack the time.

 Holy crap! Even in the wild west they'd have given you some whiskey or something!

Sigh... yeah-up.

Certainly not if she was trying to wear Abercrombie.

So, not a good idea?

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Yeah right.

;)

Beaches & Cream. 2 reasons... burgers and ice cream. 2 of my favorite food groups. It has been on the ADR list multiple times, but due to reasons of inconvenience or lack of time, it always gets canceled. I have it booked for our upcoming trip, but I'd give it about a 75% chance to once again fall short of the cut. If I ever stay at an EPCOT area resort it will be a must do, but since that hasn't happened yet, it just hasn't worked out where I feel like it is justifiably convenient to go there.

Again?! This is becoming a chronic problem!

But, I have to agree.... unless you're AT an EPCOT resort (which I've never been) it is kinda a pain in the patootie.

Nope, not a great start at all. :faint:

They stunk.

Well, at least they seem to be excellent about providing courteous, personal service once you're seated in their restaurant. (and apparently, as we'll find out, not a moment longer)

It lasted approx. 1/2 an hour.

So you had "J" at Abracadabar, right? Did this champagne start with a letter K???

Ok, here's the deal....

I'd actually planned to have K AND L the following night at Vic and Al's, so yes, technically, I did imbibe a few more (throughout the trip!) than the allotted 26. This was an extra. K was Kabinett at V&As, L was a wine, and M was a Moscato there as well. But yes, I did go out of order in ONE instance, but I got approval from Fran Alison, Pat, and Marv; they were the rules committee for that one. They said yes, so I had Z at La Cava before a few other letters.

In other words, she ate crap that could make anything we produce and serve in the USA taste delicious.

Well, yes, except that Khaza, horsemeat sausage, is actually wonderful!

Yeah, that totally wouldn't work for me. I'm a big eater. Especially on vacation.

This little piggy went to the market...

I know... I'm the same way. I pretty much always give at least 20% unless I'm somewhere that takes an automatic 18%. If they're going to do it for me, I'm certainly not going to add to it.

Nope. No sense on giving them more than what they think they're worth. I wonder when it was that tipping became exactly NOT that???

In other words, it is a resounding "meh."

Ok, I'm glad you got to try Flying Fish. I'm sorry that it fell short in a few ways, but at least you were able to have a great time with friends and it seems that you certainly enjoyed your meal. I'm not a big fish eater either (I like mine breaded and deep fried) so I just can't see this being high on my list of places to try anyway. And if they have small portions and high prices... nope.

No, this is not the place for you, or Mark. Too fishy, too pricey, not enough food. 3 strikes; you;re out.

Oh no! Scary. I'm glad there was an RN daughter able to fly half way across the country to help care for her.

I hope I was of a little bit of help! Hard to tell. I think in the end it was mostly moral support. She seems better than when I arrived, so I guess that's good.

And furniture was placed in front of it too, right?

I think Ramada has become one of those hotel brands that is an "only in case of emergency if there's nothing else within 100 miles" type of chain.

No, because then I'd have had to move it for my Pizza Hut delivery.

It's been a loooooooong time since I've stayed in any hotel other than Disney, so I just have no way of comparing really. I chose it because of the park and fly option.

I don't have time for 300 pages... nor do I have time to sue. So thanks.

You're welcome.

Looks good! I'm glad that it worked out that you could help out and still not miss out on your trip!

Me too!! And if I need to, I can always come back; if things take another unexpected turn.

We are there! I have a very short window at 9:15 for a few minutes before I have to meet the others at 10:00 on Main Street. Would you be able to meet back in fantasyland??

Nice Main Street pictures! Lots of interesting perspective and unique takes on various locales.

Yay for tomorrow!!!!!!

I will have to spend some time getting caught up again...In browsing quickly through, I saw the post about your momma. I am sorry to hear your mom hasn't been feeling well and OH MY am I ever so glad they caught that clot! That gives me not good chills thinking about it.
Feb 9th! :scared1: Where has all my time gone? I just looked to see when the last time I posted was. I can't believe it has been almost 8 weeks with VERY minimal if any Disdrugs! I am once again so far behind.

Musical is over. Will post some pics as soon as I can get my cloud cleared out enough that they will upload from my phone. =)

School became crazy March 5th. I had 2 accelerated classes start. One of them is computer applications and I am having a trough time keeping up with it. I am spending about 4 hours a day doing homework for it and my instructor is not very helpful so am spending a lot of time googling everything so I can figure out how to do it.

I have decided Xeljanz is the magical drug for me! It has been working so well. Even with all the drastic temp changes here in Ohio, since January I have only had 1 flare of my RA and it only lasted for 2 days and went away on it's own. I had a bit of swelling when I was working on musical stuff, but nothing compared to last year.

Hoping to get caught up this week... but we will see.

I'm not sure how to PM you but I do hope to run into you. I have a little something special for you since You graduated nursing schooling

Just cecking I so you know I am still kicking even after the BIG 70 !!!!! At least I retired from 2 jobs before was 70,I am not sure to work till 80 or 90!! :charac2::cloud9::hyper2::crutches::crutches:

I definitely need to go see Bob's show. Love the Main Street USA pics. It's a cool area of the park to get lost in. (Not that one could get lost walking along a straight line with a giant castle as a visual anchor point, but i digress.)

i can do that too ya know! Who wants to see my legs!!!!

Darn, Janelle. I sure wished it'd worked out. :( I had a pretty full few days with stuff already planned that weren't able to be re-scheduled. Added to the fact that DLR has decided, oddly, to not provide wifi. (WTH?!) So no easy way to connect. :(

Let's definitely stay in touch and make it work when I'm down next. Now that I'm working, I'll be visiting hopefully yearly. :)

That would be great and if we decide to drive up to WA maybe I'll stop by your neck of the woods to drop off your little nursing gift. Can't figure out how to load a pic? When I press the camera it says gallery?
