I haven't been on in so long, but I thought that I should include my TR for any of you who are interested!

Finally…

I have to begin by saying THANK YOU again to all of you who, although you may not realize this, are a wonderful support system for brides to keep their sanity during a wonderful, yet sometimes stressful period.

DAY 1

I woke up on Sunday morning excited and just ready to get on that plane to sunny Orlando. Our flight was at 8am (we had to leave the house at 5:30am (DEAR LORD!)
I just sat in the back with butterflies in my tummy, stared outside the window until we reached the airport.
My dad dropped us off, I got kind of teary eyed when I hugged my dad goodbye because I realized my last night at home had come and gone. Off to find my sister, Sara and her husband Henry, and my two nephews, Tyler and Julian (sooo cute!). We finally found each other; checked in our luggage, and skipped through the wonderful security escapade (I’m being sarcastic).
Jonathan held my dress and I played with little Julian while we waited at the gate…awwwwwwww!

I'm sorry for the HUGE photos.
OK, so we get on the plane and of course my BIL, Henry, somehow told the stewardess that we were going to Disney to get married….and of course once we landed the stewardess got on the intercom and announced it to everyone. Some people clapped and wished us congrats, but there was this old woman, who looked like Dorothy from the Golden Girls next to me who just smirked, and turned away, she didn’t find us very amusing and could care less where we were getting married. I just chuckled because I felt the biggest urge to scream out “Hiya Dorothy!”.

Finally!!! I smelled the clean Florida air! At baggage claim we realized that JetBlue lost one of the bags, a small carry-on bag that I had checked in. I was resolved to be as nice as possible and give them the necessary time to find it, so we filled out some paperwork and left hoping to hear from the airline later that day.
AAHHHHH …but back to reality because I was about to meet Jonathan’s family for the first time. They had arrived in Orlando on Saturday.

I was a bit nervous but Jon’s family was so sweet that they really made me feel very comfortable. They met Jon and I at the Beach Club and then we went to Sea World.
Side note: Jon’s family hadn’t seen him for 2 years so when they finally met us it was like dramatic music playing in the background and him and his family running towards each other in slow motion – I was left behind trying to catch up(great)
Anyway….
Wooohooo SHAMU! After years of begging my dad to take me to Sea World, but only going to boot-legged aquariums, I was finally going to meet Shamu and see the real deal.
Shamu’s show was called “Believe”….hmmm, very similar to “Wishes”…..Anyway, the trainers were frolicking in the air and dancing with Shamu, very amusing…

Jon's family and I on our first day (GoSH my ****s are just gushing out of that sweater!)
Me, Maranda (sil), Joan (mil), Michael (bil)

JOn's BIL had never been outside the state of CO so he was amazed with all the marine life.
I don't know who that little boy in the back is..innocent bystander picking his nose

My favorite part
September2007052.jpg

Once the show was over it started to pour so we rand inside to get something to munch on while the rain subsided.

Maranda and her husband Vidal.
September2007054.jpg

Unfortunately, the rain would not stop and we needed to leave, so Jon’s mom, Joan, swiped garbage bags from the ladies restroom so Maranda and I could put wear. Here’s how the conversation went:

Joan (to Jon’s sister, Maranda): Here honey put on the plastic bag, it will keep you dry.

Maranda: MOM! I am not wearing a garbage bag around the park!

Joan: Common Maranda! Here Abby, you take one too.

Abby: ……(no comment, I just stared and prayed that someone would intervene quick, common, I just met her, I can’t say no!)

Joan: Here jonathan, help Abby with her bag.

Abby: (OMG! I can’t believe it, common Jon, tell your mom that I don’t need that!)

NO help, I just bit my lip and pulled the bag over my head, sheesh

So later we all had dinner @ Kona’s with Jon’s parents Joan & David, his sister and her husband, Maranda and Vidal, and his little bro, Michael.
Kona gave us a very pretty dessert for free which was very sweet!
It was pretty good. The worst part of the day was over.

awww! sounds like it was fun (even if you were forced to wear garbage bags lol)

I can't wait to hear more!!! (Was it really your DH's BIL's first time out of the state??)

heh, I'm loving your TR so far! You definitely made me lol at a few points (especially the sweater comment and the garbage bag commentary!)

can't wait for more... popcorn::

DAY 2

Jon’s parents dropped him off early Monday morning at the BC and Sara & Henry drove us to the County Clerks’ Office to get our license. The drive was a bit longer than I thought it would be, but we found it without any issues and we were in and out in 20 minutes. While we were on line we saw this older couple who were there to get a license that were all over each other and cuddling, they must have been in their 80’s or something, no joke. Keepin’ it real I guess!
Then we went to Target and got some goodies and essentials for the welcome bags. We went back to the BC where Stitch was entertaining the kids in the lobby area.

Monday, 17th - when the Disney vaca really started

I tried to chase after Stitch as he was leaving but only got this pic.

September2007061.jpg

Dang it, he's so popular.

Our Family Dinner was at Ohana’s that evening. My parents flight was arriving that evening so we all went to pic them up at the airport and then met up with everyone at the Polynesian. It was soo nice, BUT Henry again told the Hawaiian man playing the Banjo (I know its not a banjo but that’s what it looks like) that we were getting married that Friday so, they made us get up and dance in front of everyone. I wanted to Karate chop him but was too full and for fear of hurling on my future inlaws, I just stayed put.

Here’s Tyler on the coconut attack- let me tell you, when this competition starts, he is all concentration, don’t steal his coconut!!! ..and his mouth is all covered with the sauce from the wings.

Our families got along pretty well, so I was really happy about that. My younger sister, Querin was having a tough time with all the changes going on so I was happy that the next two days involved MK and Epcot with just the immediate family, we needed that.
I have to apologize for not having any pictures of us, I guess I got really caught up in everything :(

Next: Tuesday @MK & Wednesday @Epcot!!!

I'm sucha CHUMP. I feel like I've been slammed in the face with so much lately and I havent' had the chance to post reply's or the next installment. SORRY! :(

DAY 3
ALRIGHT...so day 3 was a day that i was really looking forward to. I was going with my immediate family to MK:
mom
dad
little sis - querin
big sis - sara
dbil - henry
Nephews - Tyler and Julian

I love the walk from the BCV’s to the bus stop. It so quiet and peaceful in the morning. I took this pic as we were walking to the bus stop:

September2007063.jpg

Right after I took this picture I tripped over myself (yes, I make myself trip sometimes) and almost lost control of the camera...pretty dramatic, but I was okay becuase I was going to MK!!!

Ok, I am going to have to ask forgiveness in advance here. My sister caught me taking pics with flash and said that I would get beat down by the DIS boards if they saw my pics, since I used flash. :catfight: I promise, I won’t do it anymore!!!
We ran in to Main Street USA…so nice…early in the morning at 9am sharp…guys, you know the feeling. We used our ride “strategy” and were able to get Fantasyland done before 11am.

My ghetto pictures with flash...I promise I won't do it anymore!!!

September2007070.jpg

look at Wendy's head, she's got a big'ol crack around it! Seriously, they need to re-paper mache that baby on....I know i'm not the only one who tries to touch & kick her when you fly over that part.

September2007072.jpg

We're finally off...my mom..she denies that she's obsessed but she screams on all rides, even Its a small world, which we unfortuanely got on next...

lalalalala lalalalala lalalalbooooringlalalalala lalala-lalaboring lalala-lalaboring boring boring boring LA! Look! even the first boy is falling asleep, on his own ride no less!
September2007073.jpg

September2007074.jpg

...ok ok, this ride is a must do, but couldn't Disney make a 10 foot water fall for some sort of excitment? I still love the ride...maybe...

Mom and dad after Fantasyland on our way to Frontierland!!!
September2007077.jpg

There was hardly a line for Spach Mountain...yaye! this is why we love September!
September2007079.jpg

we were done with MK at around2 or 3pm and headed to BCV's to get some rest, freshen up and change.

Dinner was at Narcoosee's!!! All the guys wore their matching shirts:

September2007080.jpg

I got a little sick, I was strating to get a head cold, and truly looked like crap on this day, but I still wanted to have a picture with my sister Querin. Ilook like I belong at death's door.

Straw for the kids
September2007087.jpg

Scallops with some kind of Citrus in it
September2007089.jpg

I of course got the Surf and Turf, I'm such a cow, but it was the best!!!! I loved it! I've never had Filet mignon that was smoother than chicken!!!!!!!

Next up: Day 4 -EPCOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!

Loved the garbage bag couture rainwear! :) Your family is adorable (especially your nephews!) I can't believe that lobotomy scar on Wendy! You'd think Imagineering would not allow something so makeshift on such a popular attraction-- but maybe that's why there is no flash-- so you can't see how rundown it is!

Great start to your TR, can't wait to read more!

hmmm... i never finished my TR...I think I'll skip the details (since i don't really remember half of them), but I'll include pictures and some afterthoughts to help out you future brides...;)

mods...how do I move this to the TR thread? Thanks!!!

Hi Abby!

I love the start to your TR (and that your DF has a dropkick's shirt on, that means he's a keeper:thumbsup2 )

Your nephews are so flippin' cute! The dimples on Julian are killin me, you just want to pinch those cheeks!

I love your TR so far, it must have been nerve wracking meeting your FIL's just a few days before you were married! At least they were nice to you and your family (even though you had to wear a garbage bag lol):goodvibes
