Abby Girl's Wish Trip MAW/GTKW Pre Trip Report Feb 24 - March 2, 2011

Thank you all. I am feeling so much better as well as Abby, we just need to get my other two children feeling better.

Yes, since we got flight information it does seem so much more real. We are all getting so excited. I am having difficulty planning though, since I have not been to disney since I was 5, and my hubby has never been.

Is so sad for my Abby girl tonight. She is in so much back pain, she is crying and hating her life and disease right now. I am thinking it is either from pt, the cold weather or from the flu she had. Last time she had the flu she collapsed on the bathroom floor with back spasams. It kills me to see her in this pain all the time and the only thing I can really do for her is hold her tight, give her loritab or ibuprophen and/or a warm bath.

On a positive note, I picked up a side job next weekend for a good amount of extra Christmas $$.

I talked to MAW again today, faxed all the paperwork. However, Abby decided she wants a dinner with the characters. Abby is not a princess girl, she wants Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale. MAW said that they could do a dinner with the characters, but I have to narrow it down to where we want to go. We have never been to DW before, so I have no idea. What is the best one to go to for these characters. Also, I am having such a hard time planning, I don't even know where to start. I am in need of all the help I can get.

Thanks for the nice notes about Kate. Your daughter is adorable and she sounds like my spunky little one, nothing gets my girl down even when her knees and hips ache for her fake little plastic experiment. Kate is also not very girly, we went to Disney a few years ago with family and we had a character dinner at The Crystal Palace which sounds princessy but it was pooh etc and the food was amazing. It is the one character dinner we are going to try do again because we did several and it was a hit among all of us

The side job just fell in my lap. I clean houses for a company and I send my resume a couple of weeks ago, for a bookkeeping position, since this is what I went to school for. Well the lady emailed me, that she was already interviewing for the position, but saw I cleaned houses and wanted me to come look at her house on the side. So, I got the side job and she also did a mini interview with me for the bookkeeping position, saying that we would work good together due to our personalities.

A long day today, back to work after a week off, from the holidays and being sick and kids being sick. Abby is in another night of pain, except tonight she tells me that a boy in her class squeezed her hips. She said she told her teacher, but no phone call, and they know to call. Hopefully no fractures in her verterbra or rib area. Gonna see how tonight goes and call the dr. tomorrow. I would love to go just one month with no fracture .

Thank you..., she woke up this morning feeling a little better. I am thinking it may be the cold weathe coming in, more so than the little boy squeezing her. I am gonna wait and see how she does over the weekend and if she is still complaining then I will call the dr. on Monday.

I am thinking that I might be coming down with something, again. My throat has that tickle in it and I am just drained. ugggggg Hopefully, I can keep it away from Abby, I do not like it when she has a bad cough.

She has a couple of friends over right now, and it is loud in here . LOL But she is having fun. I would rather her have friends here than go to someone elses house. I know that probably sounds horrible, but at home I feel like she is more protected.

My boss is making a countdown calander for Abby's wish trip for her. I gave her a list of Abby's favorite disney movies today, so we'll have to wait and see what she comes up with. She wanted a list so that she can go by the things Abby likes. I have a wonderful boss, and it is so nice to know that she won't let me go if something happens and I have to miss work because of Abby. That means alot more to me than lots of money. She said she is going to start it 1 months out, and Abby has no clue. I have to take Abby to pick it up, since I think it is only right that she give it to Abby, since, she is the one doing this for her.

I think that is awesome of your boss to do the countdown for Abby. It's so great that you have such a good relationship with your boss, that is a very rare thing.

I am going to get some vitamin C, hopefully that will help.

Yes it is wonderful that I have a great relationship with my boss. Really don't care for what I do, but the flexability of my schedule with Abby makes it worth it.

Calling Abby's dr on Monday. It seems like ever since she started her pt, her back has gotten worse. We rode around for about 3 hours looking at Christmas lights and she is now laying in bed on her back massager w/heat that my mom bought her with ibuprophen in her system. The car ride has never really bothered her before.

She did have alot of fun though as we all did, except why is it when you get all 3 kids in the car, the first thing that usually happens is arguing over nothing

I can't believe we are a couple months away from Abby's trip.
I think my inner child is comming out, between Christmas and her trip, I am having such a hard time sleeping, and when I do sleep, I dream about her trip.. Sometimes I feel likeI am going crazy

Abby got her letter today. Thank you smilecrissy, she was so happy to get more mail. She already colored your picture and is going to write you tomorrow. She was amazed at how much you knew about her already.

Yeah for Friday. Abby's back pain seems to be getting a little better, since the doctor told us to stop physical therapy. Hopefully, it will continue to improve. Thank you everyone for the kind thoughts.

Heard from our MAW coordinator today. The doctor did not approve Abby's wheelchair for disney. I am assuming because she has one, although she has slightly outgrown hers (her feet touch the ground). She has an appt. with him next Thursday for her fractured thumb (brace finally comes off...Merry Christmas to her), so I am going to talk to him about it then. The coordinator told me to talk to him and see if I can persuade him to sign for the wheelchair. She cannot do a whole lot of walking due to all the fractures she has had in her feet, legs and mainly her back. Poor girl would be in so much pain that we would be in the villa more than the parks. Please pray that the doctor agrees to the chair.
