Abby Girl's Wish Trip MAW/GTKW Pre Trip Report Feb 24 - March 2, 2011

When you had ulcers when you were young, did it double you over in pain and last for hours? I am just curious as how bad the pain can get. I have them, but not that kind of pain.

First, HUGE HUGS to Tilear for all of the pain and to Mom for all of the worry! Yes...and No about the ulcers. I had more going on than the ulcers, which DID cloud the issue as they tried to diagnose me. I had to have an exp. lap where they discovered some problems in my intestines rolleyes1 I will not bore you). I also had to eat baby food due to the ulcers...went over well as a third grader...NOT! I have always had stomach problems and no longer have a gallbladder (HUGE pain when you have stones). I also have idiopathic (No known cause) pancreatitis, as does my oldest daughter, Rachel. That is also exceptionally painful. I am so sorry he is having to endure this, especially so close to the Wish trip. Praying for relief and answers that are simple! I am happy the BIG GIVE brought some happiness to you all on such a tough week. Hang in there.

Thanks for the hugs and the prayers!!!! I too had my gallbladder out and boy were those stones painfull, which is why I am thinking it might be that, just from the pain he is in and how it comes and goes, however, I don't know about the pain of the other things. I know my ulcers burn more than hurt, so not quite sure about that one.

First and foremost, you are allowed to have down days....just don't stay there Try to find the good things and focus on them... on those days I go out for a walk and pray...which is not always easy for people to do....but it sure makes a difference....
Thanks for sharing more photos... and I'm glad the pixie dust came your way. That shirt was perfect for Tilear.... and the scrapbook is great!

I'm sorry you've been having a rough time lately.

I was surprised to see pictures of Polly Pockets from my sister. That sneaky girl didn't even tell me she was sending anything!

I wasn't a sneaky teenager (I never climbed out our bedroom window... ) I have to be a sneaky adult!

So as many of you know the past few days have been rough here, however, there was some pixie dust sent our way through the BIG GIVE!!!!! I can't thank this group enough for everything they have done for our family. It seems like in the weeks that major health issues come up and I feel I can't take much more, there is something special to come to lighten my day.


Kaila wanted to open up the next one, since she hasn't really received anything yet...

Do not fear, we would never leave Kaila out!! She should be getting some things soon. (I know, because I just checked the Big Give board to see what was just sent for her! YOU are not allowed there though! )

I love the story of Abby and the UPS guy!!! She is so adorable!!

I found it at Target. I was looking for some Pixie Dust to send with the scrapbook (since a scrapbook is not really as exciting for a kid), saw this, and was very happy. I wish my kids were old enough to play it, and I'd buy it for myself!

Oh my so many muti-quotes going on. LOL It is so nice to know that so many people are praying for us I can't thank you all enough.
Tilear is still in pain, and I am very upset right now. How can they make a 14 yr old child wait over a week for the testing they want done????? He goes Feb 10 for ultrasound, GI series (has to be put to sleep) and some other test. If he is still going through the pain this weekend I am taking him to the ER again.

I'm not staying there I am feeling so much better, and I have all the wonderful people here to thank for that. Yes, that shirt was perfect. I can't wait for our trip either. Yes, I will definitely keep posting, even when our trip is over, I will still be posting.

Okay so I am really slow, but I just read your PTR. Wow! I am so sorry for all that your family has had to endure. I pray the docs can find the cause of your son's pain. I know how frustrating it is to not have answers!
Congrats on the Big Give! That Disney's Apples to apples looks fun. We've played the standard version, but didn't realize they had a Disney one. Maybe I'll have to see about picking one up to pass the time! Not much longer now!!

I am so sorry Tilear is still in so much pain I don't blame you for being upset, I would take him to the ER as well, it might force them to do the testing sooner. Maybe you could call the MD to see if they will move the test up? Or call the facility where the US is to be done several times a day and ask if they have a cancellation? I have done that in the past, then when a cancellation happens, they call me quickly to get me off of their back. So happy your sprits were picked back up yesterday, that is one thing about us Mom's, we don't wallow in pity! Even if we wanted to, who has time?

Thank you for all the hugs and prayers, you all are awesome. Tilear seems to be doing better today He has actually been able to eat without pain. No they did not give him pain meds, due to causing more stomach pain

Abby had her endocronologist appointment today and it went wonderful. I just love this doctor. They did lots of blood work, she takes so much ibuprophen she wanted to check her liver and kidneys, she also said that Abby is a prime candidate for this pam treatment to strengthen her bones and relieve bone pain. She is also scheduled for a dexa/bone density scan for Tuesday 2/8. This is a very new treatment, but it shows good results so far. So we are hoping for the best. I would be happy just to relieve the pain she is in all the time.

On another happy note, we received our GKTW packet today.

It is all seeming so real now, only 19 days remaining, not counting today.
