Abandoned places

LOVE this kind of stuff! Thanks for the links, I will check them out more carefully. Have you seen this? http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chapter1.html

This person bikes through Europe. That particular link takes you to her visit to Chernobyl 20 years after the accident. She also has links to all kinds of abondoned WWII sites. Fascinating!

I have been to deadmalls site but had forgot about it till I clicked on the link thanks!

I bet the old subways are cool to check out we just dont have those in Fl they call them indoor pools here. :rotfl2:

I found another site one time that was around chicago or new york and one place was a old police station and there was till ammo cans and all kinds of stuff just wasting away down inside that place.

I went to a abandoned college one time didnt know what it was till later and they had a indoor pool full of green water and things moving in there was straight out of a horror movie.

Found out later there was a fire there that destroyed most of the campus and killed a bunch of people and it was never able to recover from it. During the last bad hurricane season they tell me most of what was left collapsed.

In jacksonville Fl there is public school #4 I think it is that sits abandoned and that is one neat place to visit if you can. I saw on Flickr that there were some people trying to get together to look it over.

There was huge stone fireplaces and the stage and balcony were still intact when I was there that were just too cool!
It was very dark so if you visit take a flashlight and a friend or two wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out definitely not somewhere to go alone.

In at Atlanta a friend took me to some kind of school that still used in some capacity but had some neat tunnels that went around underneath just wish I could have been there during the daylight. (dinner get together)

Oh wow - i went to the first link and found 2 places I had been to as a child - Americana and Fantasy Farm. That is sad.

OK - just went to the second link.. Northland Mall? WOW! I used to walk there all the time when I was in school in Columbus. I lived just a few blocks from there. Lots of good times in Northland Mall.

I would like to take a tour of these places before they are gone especially the malls and the theme parks, maybe someone will get a tour up.

There was a castle I used to see as a kid growing up out of the woods but could never convince mom and dad to get in there. It turns out it used to be a ice rink that went under in the 60's but its lost now.

i looked at the ohio places. we have abandoned houses every 100 yrds or so where i live (never could figure out why , guess they are waiting for the land to go higher $$) and a big factory, one of the worst toxic waste dumps in USA, nearby although your feet would probably rot off if you got close enough to take a photo. i took this one a week or so ago, a couple miles from my house

Cool!

Im trying to get out more to some of my old haunts (pun intended) to see what I can dig up.

This is not a abandoned place so to speak but no many people come here anymore.
