My son fell off his bike 2 1/2 weeks ago and put a hole in his knee along with several other small cuts. The hole was quite deep and could not be stitched as the skin was gone. He has being going to the nurse every 2-3 days to get a clean dressing on it. Since last wednesday they have been saying next visit will be your last, well each time he goes they say no will need to put another dressing on. On Tuesday of this week the nurse redressed it and we were told to come back today where it would definately be left undressed. Well guess what.

We have another appointment on Tuesday. AAARRRRGGGGG.:scared1::scared1: Also each dressing seems to be getting bigger instead of smaller :confused3:confused3

It just isn't healing, I think because its on his knee it keeps opening. I'm really glad they are keeping such a close eye on it but that will be 3 weeks since he hurt it and he is on his school holidays, he's not allowed to get it wet so no swimming, unable to go to the beach as the sand might get into it.

He has been really good over it but is now fed up with it too. for the 1st week he couldn't bend it and struggled to walk but he is now back to full mobility.

Sorry for going on

Oh bless him!! Its so frustrating when u feel like its just not healing - if he anything like my son just when you give up all hope he suddenly makes a massive improvement starts to heal and in no time at all you r lef wondering what happened !!
Really hope it wont be much longer for u both x x x

awww bless, hope it heals quickly now so he can enjoy the school hols.xx :goodvibes

Your poor DS....hope he recovers quickly.

Thanks everyone. It seems to be finally healing BUT now he has chicken pox. Not having a good summer holiday so far

I wish your son a speedy recovery. These can be very trying times for parents and you may even have lost sleep over it.

Kids mend quickly and he should soon be fully up to speed.

My own son has just survived a terrible injury and has started down a long long road to recovery. We wouldnt have got through it without the help and support of friends and family. It is at times of pain and sickness that you re align your values.

Enjoy as much time as you can together and take lots of pictures and videos. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Sadly, this means that it will be at least a year before we can return to our 'happy place' at WDW but that gives us all something to look forwards to.

My very best wishes to you both

Hope he recovers from the chicken pox quickly & that his knee heals:goodvibes

i hope your son makes a good recovery and that you are able to get back to disney. It is at times of illness/injury that you realise the important things in life.

I wish you and your family all the best
