I have all the RESPECT in the world for you!!!! My parents and some friends are in New York right now and I'm here babysitting (She doesn't like it when I call it that :)) a 16 year old while they are away... And I've learned something about them.... THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE!!!! She doesn't like things when I mention them, then 30 minutes later, suddenly she likes them! But I'm stupid when I like it!   Oh!!! And she knows EVERYTHING!!! OMG! I had to make up some excuse today just so I could come home for a couple of hours to get away from her! I'm trying really hard to be patient and I'm not debating anything she says, but I feel like she's testing me or something! UGH!

I just want to say that all of you who have to live with this on a day to day basis... YOU ALL DESERVE A PEOPLE OF THE YEAR AWARD!!!

It must be something with 16 yr old my dd is very good kid but she knows everythingggggggg!!

Hey! I am 16!! I am not that difficult!! I know so many people my age who are AWFUL though...sorry you have to deal with this Nikki! If you "baby-sat" me, I wouldn't be like that! (I stay home alone when my parents go away, though...) What's odd is that my best friend's sister is your age, and I have such a good relationship with her and with my sister-in-law...we get along with each other so well!

LOL!!! My oldest will be 16 in December.... As far as he is concerned our house is a hotel with all meals provided:rolleyes:

Once mine turned 16 she was hardly ever in the house!!!

Oh, you definately have my sympathies. :p I remember when DS was 16. I cannot believe I lived through it! :Pinkbounc What an attitude he had. When I think back on it, he is lucky I didn't lock him in a closet and throw away the key! :teeth:

{{HUGS}} Hang in there. NEVER give them the upper hand.

Hmm... I wasn't like that when I was 16. Maybe she is just trying to impress you (and bad at it).

I wish we could get paid for maid service.

DS is 16 and knows it all. Nice kid sometimes but boy what an attitude.

LOL, yeah I know all about it. The funny thing is, my teenager goes through her phases about a year early. So, she's fairly easy to live with now, but for the last two years, I could gladly send her to military school. LOL

I'm 32, I tell my SO he has two 16 yo's he has to put up with all the time.:teeth:

I remember being 16. I hated that year.

lol I'm 24 Jason!

Ok, here's my update!

She has been in her PJs all day!!! She asked me earlier if I'd go pick one of her friends up. I said I would and she said she was ready to go... I looked at her and told her she wasn't going anywhere in her PJs. She gave her little attitude and said that it wasn't like she was going to get out of the car so she didn't have to. Then she got mad at me because I said that I wouldn't go pick her friend up until she got dressed. So finally she did and we went and picked her up. On the way back they were talking and she asked me if I'd go into her dads room while they had girl talk. I looked at her and she explained to me that her room was a mess and she didn't want to go in there. I didn't get a chance to say anything cause my parents called on my cell phone. While I'm talking to my dad she tells me that she had another friend coming over. I told my dad I'd have to call him back. I'm like, when did that come about? She said that she "forgot to ask me if it was ok, but it was, wasn't it?" I just looked at her and told her it was a little late for me to say no. Then she told me again that she wanted me to go in her dads room while her friends were there. I told her I was dropping them off and leaving. So I came home for a bit. UGH!!! I don't think Tuesday will get here soon enough!

I think I'd find out what was in that room. LOL Just a piece of advice from a mom. :)

I'm with Serena....... find out why they want you out of the way. It could simply be that she doesn't want to have a "babysitter" around with her friends there but I would suspect just about anything else.

You're kinda like the proverbial subsititute teacher that the kids try to fool.

Go into the room and then keep coming back out. See if they are routinely hiding something when you come out. I'd probably not leave them alone!
