Wanted to do my happy dance here for this little win! I was researching and stressing on how to get a reservation at V&A for a while now. Even more so after their star. Wasn’t able to get anything online this morning as we are doing a split stay so the most I have is a +3.

Anyway I called the restaurant line to see if the chef’s table was available and it wasnt. But i was able to get the queen’s room for 2 on a +4 day (which I cannot book yet online because of the split. But the lady was so kind and offered me that spot. So looking forward to dinner there.

I was reading that the wine pairing is a lot and pretty generous. Is it alright to share a pairing and just take sips from my husband’s glass? We went to a starred restaurant in Paris before and they said we each had to order one and it could not be shared so wondering if thats the case at VA too?

We did this when we went about a year ago. My husband wanted the wine pairing and I only wanted to try a sip of each drink. It was a LOT of wine and I still ended up being tipsy. The staff didn't seem to mind and they gave us quite generous pours, I felt.

This was back in 2017, but DH and I were allowed to split the wine pairing. They even divided the pours into our separate glasses. It wasn’t an issue at all.

Were we’re just at Victoria and Albert’s a few weeks ago. I had a single glass of wine and my husband had the wine pairing and I tried each of his wines. Trust me, your servers will not stop you.

A few years ago I split the wine pairing with a friend and we each got a full pour of half of the wines. I enjoy wine but I’m always worried it will be too much for me if I have the full pairing. Plus, we always have a pre-dinner drink at The Enchanted Rose.

Enjoy the experience.
