AAA rate

Would the room rate be the same if I booked through AAA or Disney directly, asking for the AAA rate? I spoke with Disney about a pkg price this morning but when I asked about AAA the CM said I had to call AAA directly. Even though I knew that wasn't true, I didn't want to argue so I called AAA. I had priced Sept 30-Oct4 at a value on Disney's website and got $409 and AAA gave me $384. That's not nearly the discount I was expecting/hoping for but I did book with them. Should I just call Disney and check it out?

Your dates straddle part value season and part regular season, Disney adjusts your rate accordingly whereas at one time you paid the rate at which you checked in, this will effect your rate. You also have a Fri. night stay which I believe is a higher rate than the other nights you are there. And the CM was correct, you can book the room only portion of your stay with AAA rate through them, but you must book the package through a AAA TA.

Room-only reservations can be booked at the AAA rate directly through Disney. Packages must be booked through AAA to get the discount.

However, unless there is a promotion such as free dining you are better off getting a room-only reservation and buying your tickets separately from a discount reseller such as Undercover Tourist (using the link in the Mousesavers newsletter). When you check in, you can have the resort concierge put your Undercover Tickets on your room key.

I already have my tix so I just need room only. I knew I was in 2 seperate seasons but I was hoping for a little more discount than 5%. I think mousesavers said it's usually 15-20% depending on season so I was thinking it was just a flat rate discount. I totally forgot about a Fri being part of the weekend though. That probably increased things some. I just didn't know if I should try calling Disney to check on their version of the AAA rate or if it's all the same discount.

You should call Disney directly and ask for a quote with AAA discount. Then you'll for sure.

I am confused about the AAA discount. I just got a rate quoted from Dreams Unlimited, I used my AAA card. I asked for a breakdown of room, meal plan, tickets. Are you saying that the AAA discount applies only to the room portion?

Am I correct that if I want to purchase a meal plan, I have to get my tickets at the same time (through DU) so I cannot get any discount on tickets if I book throught DU and I want the meals?

I have been told that only AAA can book a package with the AAA discount. Since you are getting the Dining Plan and are not booking through AAA you will not be getting a AAA discount.

I just went ahead and called Disney and the price was about $45 more than AAA quoted me and about $15 more than I got from Disney online. I guess it's always best to just check your options.

I checked a room-only reservation through Disney with AAA discount, and through AAA directly. They quoted me the same discount, but Disney's rate was actually $40 less than the one directly from AAA (taxes and everything included on both). I didn't expect Disney to be cheaper, but they were. Definitely check with both before settling on a reservation. $40 may not be a big difference over the two cabins that I booked, but it's paying for my son's pirate cruise.

In the past I have not gotten a cheaper quote from AAA. We have booked room only with the discount but there is only a limited number of rooms available. So if you are not getting a cheaper rate then there probably isn't any rooms available with the AAA rate. We had booked a room on our own then went to an agent to add the ddp. The first quote was higher than I could have booked on my own. They worked with me and got a better discount than I had with the room only booked. This is for Dec and there were no AAA rooms available at our resort with the AAA rate so I was lucky that I had booked my room over a year ago!

I got my confirmation for room only from AAA today and it was $45 less than they quoted me over the phone! I was pretty excited about that. It did end up being a 15% discount after all.

AAAs discount depends on the season too. I know for a fact that regular is only 10% for a deluxe, hence my $374 tax included rate for BC standard in early November

What I will do is book with AAA discount myself, then turn ther eservation over to Dreams Unlimited to tweak for me. THis way I get my room booked, especially if it's during a crazy booking time, but the Dreams agent I use (SueEllen) can work her magic and see if there is anything better out there.
