AAA rate sold out -- advice please

I booked a vacation at POFQ today, but I REALLY want to stay at POR -- we always stay there & have little interest in POFQ! AAA said that Disney said the rooms at the AAA rate were sold out & it would cost $100 more per person to get a room at POR. If it were just my money I'd do it, but I'm dealing w/ a friend's money as well & don't want to be selfish.

Here's the question: is there a chance I can swoop in & get POR? Is this possible or likely? Thanks.

I would suggest you call Disney directly to inquire on availability. If AAA rate is not available at POR call back everyday to inquire - rooms do open up. Good Luck!

You don't state when you booked for, but this is what happened to me. I tried five different times to book AAA at CSR for next April & every time I was told there were no AAA rooms available. On call number six I got the AAA discount. Like Nolcrest said, keep calling!

Ask if it is available for part of your stay. Maybe only the first night isn't available. If you can book part of the stay with the discount, could you swing it then?

It took me several calls to finally get a AAA rate for GF. First two times they told me that didn't have any GF LV rates, but the third time they found them for all 11 days of our trip. Keep calling!

I called yesterday and got AAA rates for both CR tower and PC for the beginning of March no problem. Now I just hope AP rates become available.

We are doing a YC/CR split late May/early June.

1st call: not available for either
2d call: available for CR, but not YC
3d call: not availble for YC
4th call: not available for YC; I had her check the next night, and got 4 of my 5 nights at YC with a AAA rate.

So after 4 calls, I have a AAA rate for 9 out of 10 nights, total savings of $361.

Keep calling! Have the CM look up the second night of your stay...it worked for me!

If you are going this November, use one of the current codes BAP, BAS, BAT they are cheaper than AAA rates I think and check Mousesavers.com . If not keep calling, something will open up.
