On average how much does being a AAA member save you on room or package rates? (Trying to decide if I want to Join.) And don't you have to be a member for a while before you can use the discount? We have a Nov. (just DH and I) trip planned as well as a June trip.(family) Thanks for the help

I saved almost $300!!! We got 7 nights at CSR, 6 day tickets, and the dining plan for 2 people for $2080. Hope that helps!

WOW!! That is quite a savings. I guess I really should look into it. Thanks for sharing. :wave2:

As well as your Disney Discount, you get discounts at other hotels, restaraunts and other businesses. They even come help if your car won't start! :rotfl:

Check out their web page, they offer a lot of services!

AAA is definitely worth it. I save money every year on many things. Also, if you are driving to Disney, you get preferred parking with AAA.

Thanks everyone for the info. Looks like I'll be checking into this tomorrow!! :)

We saved almost $400 on out upcoming Nov. trip - we'll be at wilderness lodge. I gave my daughter an early wedding gift of an AAA membership so they could book their honeymoon through AAA - she did right away - no big wait - there are loads of discounts at all types of retailers, hotels, car rentals, entertainment places, etc... it is well worth the membership. one things - you can get your AAA discount for room only through WDW directly - but if you are adding the dining plan - you need to book through an AAA agent to get the discount - just a heads up on that.

I dont remeber how much we actually saved because I changed our ressies 2 or 3 times to add days... but I do remeber it being worth it.. I actually called AAA and said.. I am not a member but if you can save me $$$ on my disney trip I will become one..... I had already had disney quote me a price and it was alot higher.. Also .. we do travel alot thoughout the year for Karate Tournaments.. so now I get a discount on those hotels also... Oh.. and I had to use it once to have my dh's truck towed when the fuel pump went out..
So it has been well worth the membership fee...

What is this preferred parking all about it? We are driving so I'm curious.

AAA has a special parking lot that is closer to the gate. I think it is called the Diamond lot. At any rate the pass comes with your package information when you book with AAA. Last year you saved 20% on the moderate resorts but there are only a certain number of rooms eligible for the discount. You also get discounts at several other places in DTD.

OK, one more plug for AAA: In addition to the savings on your reservations and park tickets plus the special parking, I love AAA for the tour books and the maps. Whenever I go away on a trip (either business or pleasure) I always stop at AAA to get a map and a tour book for the area that I am visiting.

This is so true. I can't believe the huge book they gave for me for Florida plus maps and cruise books.

I booked rooms for next May at WL but they said they was no AAA discount. So I guess it's only at selected times of the year? Anyone know for sure?

So AAA is not only good for car trouble when traveling, :car: but they are a complete travel agency as well? I would love to have a good travel agent. I have two here in town that I go between but they have both messed up trips. If seems anymore if you say WDW they just aren't interested in booking the trip.

I think like anywhere it varies with the TA. But at my local office, I have a TA that I have used for many excellent trips including both Disney trips and also trips to Europe.

I agree AAA is definitely worth it.

I don't think the AAA discounts are out for 2007 yet. You will probably be re-rated after they come out.

I saved about $250 on a 10 day package (with dining) in Nov. It was well worth the price of membership. AAA also offers lots of other discounts (amtrak, commuter rail, attraction, movie and show tickets, etc) It was well worth the $40 membership.

AND I DON'T EVEN DRIVE!!!!! :rotfl2:

Anyone know of any AAA TAs that are Disney specialists? I've seen ads for AAA TAs and Disney specialist TAs, so I have to think there's a small segment overlap in some AAA office...

My AAA agent is a Disney Specialist! Her name is Adreena 304-523-6423 ext 226. She is awesome!

Called AAA today and booked our trip for Jan 27 6 nights CSR. Definitely lower. Took out their plan today. Great tip from this board! Thanks guys! I am so thrilled to be going!
