AAA package and LM room

I was wondering if anyone has ever booked a package through AAA with a stay in an AoA LM room. Was the package the same as rack rate? From what I've read, it seems like LM rooms don't qualify for AAA discounts, but I can't figure out if this is just if you try to book a room only through Disney or if you can get a discount by booking the package directly with AAA. Also, if you have an existing package booked directly with Disney, can you get that package switched over to AAA?
