AAA Discounts?

You can get AAA discounts on campsites and cabins at the Fort. However, there is a limited number of discount-eligible sites/cabins so just because someone got a discount for the same type of ressie and dates as you want doesn't mean you will get one.

Booking early is the best bet to snag one. Once they are claimed or all reserved there are no more. I have an April ressie for a Partial site I just added a day to this week. The original ressie was on a AAA discount and I was able to include an additional weekday and get it covered as well. That is a 10% discount and that is in the Peak pricing season.

Sometimes the AAA discounts are NOT available across all types of sites. It may only be available for a Partial but not a Premium site for example on a given day.

One strategy is to make a ressie well in advance for the dates you want and pay a one night deposit at the rack rate. In the fall the AAA discounts become available for the following year you can call back and see if you can add the AAA discount to your existing ressie (which is what I did for my April ressie). I think in Value season the max discount available is higher (maybe 15-20%).

You are supposed to show your AAA card at time of checkin to get that rate and I've only had to do so about half of the times to the Fort. But every little bit helps, you know?

Good luck to you! :surfweb:

We have gotten the AAA discount during Value season many times, 20%.

I know there is no AAA discount during the Holiday season.

Peak and regular maybe be 10 and 15% Not sure on those.

I was able to get an AAA discount for 25 nights for August 2011. The discount worked out to about 18% off the total. I made the reservation last October but can't remember if the discount was out then or if I had to call back at a later date.

I did get a discount for this June but it was for a partial hookup site (no sewer) - however, the discount was around $150 so we took it because I'm all about saving money and $150 can buy me quite a few Mickey icecream bars..... Last year I was able to reserve in the fall for the following summer and got the discount on a full-hookup preferred site. Just so you know, you don't have to go thru AAA to get the discount - you can just ask disney when you make the reservations over the phone.

We just used the AAA discount for President's week. I believe it was 10% and I had booked back in late summer/early fall I think.

In 2009 we got a AAA for the entire month of Nov and it was around 15% for a FHU site. This last year we managed to get a few (about 10 out of a 45 day stay) in Oct/Nov but ended up with like 5 or 7 ressies since you are charged whatever the one day rack rate is for the day of check in. Thus I you get say 3 AAA days in the middle of an existing ressie you will end up with three ressies and have to pay two additional deposits.

What was really interesting was for one we got a AAA rate for like the first few days of an existing ressies what we had already put the deposit down on, but since that moved the start of that existing ressies from a weekday to a weekend, we had to pony up the $3 or so for the higher weekend rate.:rotfl:

Because of being upgraded from a FHU to a Premium this last trip we are now I think officially Premium campers and I think there are more AAA rates available for those so the "pain" will be somewhat mitigated if we can get that discount.
