I know there is a AAA discount on tickets to Universal but tell me about discounts once I arrive. Can I use my AAA discount for food and merchandise everywhere in the park? What about City Walk? What is the discount? Thanks!

You can use the AAA card to get discounts at most restaurants and stores in the parks and CityWalk. I believe there is a minimum $50 purchase to get a discount for merchandise. The discount is 10% at those participating locations. Best advice...just show your card every time.

This! We asked the first time out of curiosity, because we'd never been to Universal and thought it was worth a try, and received 10% off our DD8's Gryffindor robes and scarf (which were shockingly expensive). The very helpful staff person there gave us the same advice, basically "show your card everywhere, it usually helps" and we didn't find a single restaurant or store that didn't take it. You need to exceed $50 at stores, but not at the restaurants, if I recall correctly. By the third day we decided to get APs, so started using that for discounts instead, but by then most of our souvenir shopping was complete and the AAA card saved us enough to buy several rounds of Butterbeer!

we were there the last week of June.

We did receive the 10% off food at the restaurants. (not alcohol purchases)

We did not receive it on merchandise because there was a $50 min. and we didn't spend much.

That $50 on merchandise must be new. We go every September and there was never a minimum purchase $$. This makes me :(

Oh that is great to know! Will definitely make sure to have our AAA cards on us when we go.

In case anyone from the UK is reading and doesn`t know......you can use your AA card for the same discount if you are a member :thumbsup2

Sometimes you do have to say it`s the same as AAA.......but never any issues.
