I called about a reservation date change and decided to ask if the AAA discounts were out. They are and I got the discount on all of my 2009 reservations (includes through December 2009).

I just went to aaa.com and I don't see the rates...just seasonal. I guess I'll call today.

Who do you call? We have AAA & Lowes (YouFirst) and I've been waiting for the 2009 AAA rates to come out. I don't have a clue what number to call to make the reservation. :confused3 Thanks! :goodvibes

You need to call reservations. Not sure which hotel you are staying at. Here's the number from my ressie confirmation: Reservations Number 888-464-3551 We are staying at the HRH.

Thanks Laurie! I was thinking of trying RPR for our 1st Universal stay next May! :) (of course DD15 does want HRH!! ;))

You're welcome. Either choice, you will be pleased with. We've stayed at both and they are great. We like HRH better, but would go back to RPR in a heartbeat.

Just got off the phone and can confirm that AAA rates are out for Feb. We are staying the 10th-18th. The average rate per night was $469 at the time of my original ressie. Now my rates are as follows (as there are changes during stay):

$291.20--10th
$404.10--12th
$422.10--13th
$404.10--15th

Still a major ouch! Going to cost over $3000 for 8 nights. This is for a club room. Hoping it gets better through supersaver or aph. Was really hoping for better...

For the heck of it, I asked about aph rates...not available yet.

After reading this post, I just called to get my AAA discount applied to my existing reservation for July 2009. She told me they don't have any AAA rates yet that apply to my reservation. I booked a regular room at PBH, then used my platinum upgrade and got a Portofino Suite. Does any know if they can still apply the AAA discount once you've upgraded, or can that be the reason they are not showing any discount right now? Should I keep calling back periodically? I was hoping to get my rate lowered a bit.

Thanks for the message about AAA rates. My late April rate at RPR went from $249 to $211 so it is some savings. Still hoping for an even better rate down the road.

Wow, thanks for letting us all know!

My rate for PBH went from 394 to 315!

MLK weekend
2Q Deluxe Club

I feel cheated! We're going May 25-28 and the AAA discount is only 10%. (I was hoping for 15%!) :confused3

Ended up booking a GV at HRH because DD15 really wants to stay there instead of RPR.

I too am a Platinum member so that's why I asked for AAA so I would have a qualifying stay. I had already booked reservations for 6 stays next year with the suite upgrade. I got the discount on all of them. I would try again because one of my stays is over July 4th weekend and I got the AAA discount.

The other discounts: APH, super saver, and Florida resident rates come out periodically as you move thru the year.

Thanks. I think I'll wait a few days and call again. Hopefully, I'll speak with someone who actually is aware of the AAA rates!

I've been calling 2x a week to see about rates. Called this morning (Friday, 9/12) as soon as I saw this post (whoever posted it ---- THANK YOU).

Let's see....here's what I got:
Royal Pacific Resort
Standard, water view room - request high floor
March 17-25, 2009
Started out as 309.00 and 324.00 per night (higher on the weekends)
AAA rate is 273.60 and 291.60
Total amount of difference is: 311.85

YEAH!

Thanks for the head's up! Got PBH for $258/night - down from $304. We have the platinum upgrade to Portofino Suite. Can't wait!

What dates are you going? That's the situtation I'm in and they said there are no AAA rates yet? I'm going in July.

When I search the dates on the AAA site I am not seeing any AAA rates available on those days. Only regular. Those rates seem rather high considering I am only paying $226 at Christmas time $(303 for club). Perhaps the person on the phone was mistaken. I would continue to check.
