I have had a AAA card since my college days; my renewal fee was $42 this year. I'm trying to get a AAA card for a friend so they can get the AAA rate at disney, but the cheapest that I can find for a AAA membership is $64? Are there codes for a AAA membership?

Check out AAA for South Carolina. They were the least expensive I found. It is my understanding that you don't have to live there to use their services. Someone will probably be along with a link.

I am also thinking of joining AAA for the rate since these "general codes" dont seem to be coming out. I just went to the AAA website and my rate was $54. Why would some states be different?

I just want to share my AAA experience during our transition from Nebraska to Florida.
We had been AAA Nebraska members. When I moved here, I called AAA Nebraska and spoke to them on how to handle it.
I did as they stated and went to the So FL AAA office and changed my mailing address, etc.
The NE AAA office told me the oppsite of the FL AAA office. (Each one claiming I was a member of the other's AAA. And if I needed their services they basically would bicker between themselves on who was liable for the expense. ) (Whatever, as long as I have a working membership.)

Lo and behold I did try contacting AAA FL once when having car trouble. Luckily the car started on it's own because I could not reach AAA FL. I called every number on my card and always received a not in service number. :confused3
I contacted AAA and they could not explain it, unless their lines were so backed up I could not get through. (yeah, comforting)

Just for ease, I decided to let my membership expire and re-sign up as a new member. We now are proud owners of three AAA accounts.
I have asked AAA and they say I must have paid three times. (I didn't.)

So I learned the AAA offices operate separate, and not all are created equal. After this mess, I would stick to a local AAA, as long as they are competant.

I should call them again while I am thinking of it.

Not sure why the difference...but I just bought a AAA membership for a friend. On the KY website, its said $64 for basic plan. When I went to pay for it online, it said there was a $15.00 savings for doing it online, so I got it for $49. :cool1:

Maybe your state has a discount for online purchases too?

I live in northern New Jersey. Cost for AAA this year was $61. Because of the My Way dining option I booked our package thru AAA. Not only are the various states independent, but I've also found great differences in the three local branches as well. Not all are WDW savvy! Luckily I found one agent who really knew the ropes and was also a WDW veteran who has taken 30 trips herself over the years. If you want to book a AAA package, be sure to check online for all of the offices that serve your area. In my case I found one that listed WDW on their site.
