AAA Baton Rouge or Metairie LA Offices - Anyone use them before?

We recently joined AAA, and I have not yet been to either office. Both offices would be convenient for me. I've heard so many negatives about booking through AAA - so I'm a little (okay - a LOT) nervous about possibly giving up control of my reservations this time.

I know we have a number of DISers from LA---have any of you used the AAA office in Baton Rouge or in Metairie to book WDW trips? If so, was your experience good/bad/indifferent? Is there a particular agent you really like or hate? Any thoughts are appreciated. TIA.

(I won't be booking until July at the earliest as we're planning a trip for JAN/FEB 2007. We're going to book DDP for our trip and do several character meals).

We have used the Metairie office on Causeway before, but only to pick up maps and/or guidebooks. My wife reports that several of the agents are pretty clueless about WDW, although it has been a while since she's been there.

UGH. That's what I was afraid of...clueless AAA reps.

Hi from up here in "Redneck" land ! ! ! I've tried to use the AAA in Baton Rouge, and yes they are absolutely "Clueless" . They didn't know hardly anything about Disney. they don't like to return phone calls either . So I gave up on them and DIS boards turned me onto the AAA agent we're using now.

I'm from up here in northwest Louisiana & I'm using a AAA from Lawrence MA, and she is absolutely wonderful, she stays busy, busy, busy but she's has helped me beyond my expectations.

We have a AAA store here in Shreveport but I've only used them for maps but nothing big. I don't have her card here at work but I can pm you tonight with her info. I got a pretty good rate with her also. We aren't going until November 06.

I have used the Causeway Office but it has been a couple of years now. At the time they were helpful to me. I know people come and go. The best advice I could give you would be to give them a call. If they don't know as much about Disney as you do find another one. Good luck.

I am from NOLA and simply sent an email from the AAA website saying i was going on a disney trip and needed to make reservations and they actually set me up with soemone from Missouri that e mailed me back her name is cindy cunningham and she is really great. she e mailed me this morning and told me 2007 packages should be out in 2 weeks! she mailed me all the info i need and i'm sure will e mail me the maps and stuff as it gets closer to my trip, good luck!
