Worried about possibility of no codes for Sept 05, so I spent the $42.00 for a AAA membership. Called to check for discounts and price decreased $27.00 per night. I had two rooms for 7 nights so I will save $378.00.

I'm saving $15.00 in Gatlingburg, TN next weekend and $45.00 for a car show weekend in November. Have a few more weekenders planned. Gonna easily cover the cost of AAA plus have the benefits if I have car trouble.

you can also get great deals on car rentals...we rented a Pontiac Vibe in Chicago at Union Station for $13/day through Hertz.

we booked our Disney trip through AAA and saved $200 off the bat through a January promotion they were having, plus $25 DD at check in...

We bought AAA membership and used it to book our package, saving $222 over the website and disney reservation for a 6 night with 5 day tickets at DBC. (Interesting to note, the disney rep said that AAA wouldn't save me much :earseek: ... um, $222 is good money...)

In any event if codes do come out for June, we'll see which gives better deal, but for now are happy.

:cool1:

We use AAA for everything: car service, discounts, home and car insurance, travel, car warranty, cell phone discount, traveler's checks, etc... membership is money well spent. :)

AAA is my back up as well.

I'm glad we got an e-mail code, though, because we are paying $116 total at POFQ and I was prepared to pay $144 with AAA...now I can't imagine paying that. But I also can't imagine paying the rack rate as well!

Here's to a prayer to the code gods to bless us all!

I agree about the AAA rates. It's nice to be able to book them so much further in advance than AP codes come out. I estimate that I'm saving about $44 on a quick 3 night trip to Pop Century this May with AAA. I'm also planning to use that at the Contemporary tower if a code doesn't come out (that would save me an additional $155). AAA is money well spent for us. :)

How much is an AAA discounted one-day Disney ticket, or do they only do packages?

In a couple of weeks I am going to make my May 28-June 5 reservations using my AAA discount and hope for an AP rate. I lucked out on an AP rate for my Feb trip, but if nothing else comes out, I will be happy with 15% off each night.

Think it's always a good idea to lock in with a AAA rate but you do not need to be an AAA member when you make the reservation. Just like if you make a AP reservation -- it's required at check-in, not over the phone.

We 1st made a rack rate reservation then when AAA rate came out, we changed to that. Glad we didn't buy a AAA membership, because when the room rate came out, it was way way better (and we had no other need for AAA). Next code out was AP, and when we calculated its savings, decided it was best to keep the general room code and pass on the AP code and buying an AP.

Sure pays to keep up with the codes and keep a calculator nearby.

We are AAA members for the primary reason of being able to call them if we have a car problem, especially when traveling. It gives me peace of mind to know I can make a call & get assistance any time for a flat tire or whatever. Another benefit they provide is a card for a price break on prescription meds if you do not have a drug insurance plan. I use CVS Pharmacy & normally get about 20% off. Sure beats paying full price. A lot of places honor AAA, so we get our yearly fee back easily.

It's always nice to book at AAA rates on rooms at WDW while waiting for a code...hopefully! I'd rather pay that than rack rate, for sure. Also, Earl of Sandwich in DTD takes AAA...many people don't know that.
