Made a yummy snack today that I thought I would share.
I filled celery sticks with laughing cow cheese, and wrapped them in cold cuts. It was a great way to add crunch to a low carb snack!
I think I want to join this wonderful group!! I've been thinking about joining this group since I saw it last week, and now I'm going to finally take the plunge and join!! I don't want to put my weight, but I have some specific goals in mind. I'm going to track my calories via My Fitness Pal and try and work out here and there (I hate exercise!!). I'm going to try and focus on a healthy diet for now and will, eventually, down the line try and incorporate some fitness and exercise.
Thanks for creating this great thread!! Very creative and really well done! I'm excited to see everyone's progress and support!!I don't know how often I'm going to be able to log in and read everything here but will try my best!
Ooooh! And my birthday is a couple days away on January 14th!! WOOP!! WOOP!!![]()
Morning friends! I overslept by an HOUR this morning (forgot to turn my alarm on..... very unusual for me), so no time to get online this morning before I dashed out the door. I'm in training this morning but hoping to be excused a bit early to go home! I don't see a QOTD yet for today, so perhaps our friend is sleeping in a bit as well!..................P
I'll post my official percent tomorrow (since I need to get in on more workout to reach this weeks goal!), but I was SOOO pleased to weigh this morning to see that I had gone down 0.2 lbs even though I have been eating not so well with mom around! Getting moving is working-- I just have to keep it up. Our first Blue Apron came yesterday and so I get to try that tonight! Between that and more moving, I'm feeling optimistic--- even if there is a cake in my near future!
So it is raining and grey outside today. My husband said go to the gym and use the treadmill. I got there and had forgot my membership card and lock at home. I think it was my subconscious working. I hate going to the gym! So I drove back home and went for a damp walk for 3.8k.
18.3k/60k = 30.5%
Work was bad today. I got called in early, found out I didn't have enough hours and had to stay late. Then I didn't take a break till 8 hours into my day. I worked off of half a cup of coffee and a banana. So much for health. I had to whip together something quick for dinner just to get calories in. I used juice for extra calories too. Normally I'd just graze and eat everything and go so far over on calories so at least I kept it under control.
"Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow!" (Now you gotta watch to hear Eddie Murphy saying that). Mulan is my youngest DD one of her favs, at 19 still pulls it out to watch! Lol last fathers days she signed her dads card "love you, you bring honor to us all"![]()
If can be frustrating, I'm with you a lot! I lose very slowly.....keep on the course your body will catch up!
I like night parades, not much a fan of the daytime ones. My favorite is the Halloween, but i also love electrical light
Spent the day scrapbooking with my friends, didn't food journal and had a couple drinks. Hope I didn't ruin my future loss for this coming week. I did complete my workout schedule for week one of my 8 week program and i have been sore in muscles I forgot I had!
OK, so I weighed in after the holiday craziness at 143.6 - and I'm down to 142.6 as of today! I saw 142.2 at some point this week, but I'm happy at 50% of my goal - wow!
Now, work starts tomorrow, so we'll see how I do when it's back to reality for me. I actually think that will help though - more schedule, more predictability, and less incentive to laze about the house and do nothing![]()

I love this quote, and I feel like it's relevant to us on our weight-loss journey. Everyone here has made the steps to living better, and it won't be boring from here on. It's going to be hard, and it's going to be interesting and eye-opening and you're going to want to give up along the way (probably so many times!), and it's going to seem like you have no idea where you are or what you're doing. But it won't be boring.
Were you/are you a fan of his? Do you have a favorite David Bowie song, movie, or quote?
yes, yes, yes, I was! I'm so sorry! I usually get up and do the QOTD when DH leaves for work, but the cold got me today, haha. DPup and I were much more concerned with staying under the covers where it was warm that I barely realized he left, or that I'd slept through the alarms I'd set for the rest of the morning. But I am here now! Lots of catching up here to do and then lots of decals and things to crank out today. I've got a webinar to watch at 1pm CST today, so I'll be in and out here a lot!
But, in the meantime...
QOTD for January 11, 2016
I am foregoing today's "Mulan" themed QOTD to take a moment to acknowledge a real loss in the world today. While I am not myself a David Bowie fan in that I have all of his albums, have seen him perform, or have his face on a t-shirt, I have always loved and had great respect for him, ever since I was very small and saw him in Labyrinth, back when it would play almost non-stop on the Disney Channel. Last night, he lost an 18-month battle with cancer that few people knew he had.

I have to say that I am not a David Bowie fan and don't have a song, movie or quote that relates to this topic of the day. Sorry!
On Friday we're driving from Southern California to Phoenix for the first of 21 HMs this year. I'm terrified of the HM, mostly due to distance and this being my HM. The 5K is such a quick race and the HM is just a little more than 4 5K races. I'm using the next four days to hydrate hydrate hydrate!
I thought he was great. I remember when Dancing in the streets came out I watched that video so many times. I also watch Labyrinth and thought it was really creepy but I was quite young then. I also like Let's dance. He was a very mysterious person and think that is why I liked him.
It is minus 18 with the wind today so I dragged myself to use the dreadmill at the gym and did 3.6k.
21.9k/40k
How did you like yur blue Apron meal?!

Does anyone else take advantage of Dance Party breaks during the work day?
I had a moment where I needed to throw on some Lady Gaga and just dance out my frustrations.![]()
