A year without Disney? Who am I kidding?!(a PTR) LINK TO TR!

I'm so sorry that you've been sick! I hope things are looking up by now and that you're feeling better. Hopefully the CT scan will let you know what's going on and will put your mind at ease. Remember that a positive attitude is so important to recovering! We're all here for you!

I'm around, I just don't comment much

I hope the pain turns out to be nothing serious and can easily be taken care of. I don't pray, but you're in my thoughts

Thanks for thinking of me. I feel like I went through the stages of hystericalness (not actually a word I'm sure but definitely fitting) as my mom called it. I tend to overreact to health issues, a bit of a hypochondriac if you will. I just am happy that this is being done b/c at first my doctor was just going to let it go.

Hope everything is ok and you feel better soon! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks! :) Tomorrow is the CT scan and I'm sure I won't have the results for a few days after that. I had to drink a bottle of this barium liquid tonight (around 20oz. or so!) and although it wasn't horrible, I still have to drink 2 more!!! Ugh!

It's been a super busy couple of weeks but baseball is over so I finally have a Saturday morning to catch up on some DISing.

I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues. I had my gallbladder out shortly after Zach was born so if that's the pain you are dealing with, I know how bad you must feel. It was the worst pain I've ever had in my life! I hope you get some answers soon & I'll definitely be thinking of you, so report back here with any news. pixiedust:

Great deals on the shopping!!! I've started watching that show Extreme Couponing from time to time & I'm always impressed with how much they come away with. I'd never have the time & energy to do all the preparation but it sounds like you did the same sort of thing on a smaller scale. :thumbsup2

You know, the thing is I woke up last Friday with a lot of pain in my stomach area and then after about an hour and a half it went away but I had blood in my urine from the time I woke up until the late afternoon and then just a little bit more until the next day. (Sorry if that's TMI-don't know how else to explain it.) The doctor said both tests came back negative for UTI and only one came back positive for blood (the first one). The rest of my levels were normal. He said that if I was still using the bathroom frequently after 2 weeks to come back in. However, Tuesday morning I had a little more stomach pain (not nearly as bad as that Friday) so I called and he ordered a CT scan and mentioned kidney or gallbladder stones. However, I think I'd have more pain in my kidney area if it were those. We'll see. I can't think about all of the things it could be b/c that will just make me really upset and it has been over the last few days. I can't worry about something I can't control and I can't worry about something that I don't even know is happening or not.

I definitely don't coupon like those on that TLC show. I don't have the time. Also, I would never get deals quite as good as theirs b/c we live in the suburb of a big city and no grocery stores around me double coupons. Once in a while there's a great deal but I follow a couple of blogs to get me a heads up.

Thank you, Courtney! I went out today with Greg and did a little bit of shopping (retail therapy, anyone?). I have the CT scan tomorrow and then I'll go from there. I have to drink barium and have an IV of iodine which I'm not looking forward to (I've already had one drink of barium-well, a BOTTLE, that's 20 oz.) At least it's flavored!

Good luck today!!

Thank you so much! Aside from a mix-up with the orders from the doctor(s), it went pretty good. I'll have the results in 1 or 2 days so now it's just waiting. That's never fun, especially since I've never had a test like this before. I just hope the doctor doesn't make me wait very long. This past week and a half has felt like months! I just want to move on and be able to get more excited for Disney and everything else this summer has to offer!

 Thinking of you and hoping you get the results quickly and that the news is good. I know waiting is the hardest part- the things we think might be wrong are harder to deal with than knowing what it is.
Try to stay positive!

Thanks. I'm still waiting! :headache: I go from feeling positive about it to thinking about what could be wrong (just like you said) and then I get upset again. :sad2:

So the doctor called. I have a kidney stone! :headache: Thanks, Dad! (The doctor said the number one factor was family history. My dad currently has a kidney stone too big to pass.) The CT scan also showed that I have an "insignificant" slightly enlarged spleen but the doctor is not concerned about it b/c I have no other symptoms that could be linked to an issue with the spleen. Just something to keep in mind. It also showed that I have enlarged ovaries. I've been dealing with "woman" issues for years now, so that's not a surprise. It is just making me one step closer to getting these issues figured out! Back to Disney planning! :)

Yay! I'm glad you got it figured out and that it's nothing too serious :) Can you pass it on your own, or will you need intervention?

I am so glad that you finally got some answers and that it is nothing to be too worried about! Hopefully your stone will eventually be able to pass on its own. I've heard they are terribly painful, but at least you know it's only temporary. :goodvibes

Not sure, I see a Urologist on Tuesday afternoon. I'll hopefully come home with more answers then.

I'm so glad you have some answers! I hope it passes soon!! :goodvibes

Me too!!!

:goodvibes I'm so relieved!!! It's not terribly large, so I don't know if the doctor will do any treatment.

Guess what I get to do on Saturday?!

Go see Peter Pan on "Broadway in Chicago"!

Peter-Pan-thumb-640xauto-273882.jpg

Greg got us tickets for my anniversary present. I've seen Beauty & The Beast (was just okay) and Mary Poppins (FAB!) but Peter Pan is in a "theatre in the round" set up. I'm so excited as the special effects look really spectacular! :) We'll grab dinner from somewhere in the city before the show, too. I love eating in the city. I think that I just love Chicago in general.

Oh, and yesterday I got almost a $4/hour raise at the library so I'm very excited!!!

I've started to think about Fish Extender gifts (they are just small gifts given each day of the cruise to each state room participating in the gift exchange). I need to get on those because...

it's only 111 days until the cruise and 104 days until we leave for Disney!!!

Yay, I'm glad you finally got some answers! Kidney stones aren't pleasant, but at least it's something that can be taken care of and you can go back to your normal life!

And yay, Peter Pan looks awesome! I really need to visit Chicago someday, it looks like such a nice city!

I know, it's ironic that I'm relieved that it's JUST kidney stones but at the same time I'm fearful of pain to come!

Whenever you want to visit, let me know, I'd love to help you plan! :)

Oh I hope you enjoy Peter Pan!! I agree that B&B wasn't the best, but I saw the Lion King Musical on stage and it was ah-maz-ing! Enjoy!!

And sorry to hear about the Kidney stones, I hope you get well soon!

1) I'm not happy you have a kidney stone, but I am happy it is something not too serious.

2) I am jealous! Peter Pan?! I recently watched a taping of a live performance and it was so, so cool! Enjoy!

3) I love Chicago! And I love eating there! Ok, I am jealous again ;)

I want to see Lion King, too! Hopefully one day, maybe I need to plan a trip to Vegas. :rolleyes1

I LOLed at your comment Joyce!

Greg finally picked up on a *HINT* and got me the tickets. :rotfl: I'm sure he'll enjoy it as well, though!

I'm jealous that my husband gets to go to the city everyday for work. He tells me all about the awesome places he eats lunch at, including Food Trucks! Ugh! :sad2:

I definitely want to visit Boston some day!

These links will take you to the other two daily plans I’ve posted so far, since it’s been so long since I’ve posted any daily plans. I’ve also edited our Friday (first full day) plans, too!

Friday (September 30)
Day Two Day Plans

Saturday (October 1)
Day Three Plans

and now…Thursday (September 29) aka Our Arrival Day!

We have an early flight that gets us into Orlando around 940am. We’ll grab our luggage, eat some breakfast and head over to Magical Express. Hopefully our room at Pop will be ready because I know that I'm going to want to take a nap! If it's not, I hope the weather is swimming/layout worthy because I'd settle for changing into my suit and snoozing away on a lounge chair while I soak up some Florida sun!

As soon as we are re-energized we’ll head over to Hollywood Studios. We have an ADR at Sci-Fi tonight. I'm looking forward to their delicious milkshakes.

After dinner we'll head right over to see Fantasmic! Greg really wants to see it so I think it's a perfect way to start our trip.

Fantasmic.jpg

I don’t care if we don’t have front and center seats so I’m not concerned with getting there early, I’d actually prefer to book it out of the theatre as soon as it’s over anyway! I’m so happy that they are showing Fantasmic every night in September as this leaves the PM EMH night at DHS just a couple days later open to do whatever we’d like!

As a side note: I've added "alternate plans" where the seem fitting to many of our daily plans. This evening if we are not wanting to do HS/Fantasmic we can go and have dinner at a monorail resort (cs or perhaps a TS if they are accepting walk-ups) and watch Wishes from Poly Beach or we can head over to MK after dinner. Like I've said before, I'm all about doing what we want to in the moment on this trip!

Great arrival day plans! :thumbsup2 I keep thinking I should change our arrival day to the 29th, but that means my DH will have to use an extra vacation day, and then he will only have 3 left for May, and I was hoping to go to Disney again in May! However, I could probably work with 3 days, so...we'll see! :)

I've only seen Fantasmic once, I'd love to see it again, but there's no way I'm waiting in line for an hour to get a good seat! :confused3 :rotfl: I'd rather get out of the theater as soon as it's over, too!

Struggles...

I'm working really hard to save up more money for this trip but I also need to have realistic expectations. I have the Dolphin (7 nights), the night at Pop, the Cruise, Greg's park ticket (I have an annual pass) all paid for. We have the free day at Universal tickets, the MNSSHP tickets, and the airfare all paid for with CASH. The total of that is already just over $3K. We still have all of our food, souvenirs, the car rental, the resort fee/parking at Dolphin, and the parking at Port Canaveral, oh and the day tickets to Typhoon Lagoon. When all is said and done this trip could be costing us $6K. That's A LOT of $$$. I'm just not sure I can hack it. However, if we cancelled it, we'd have the MNSSHP tickets, a night at Dolphin, about $16 owed to Undercover Tourist for the Greg's park ticket, and essentially useless Universal tickets. (A loss of just over $300.) What would you guys do?

Some thoughts I have are:

Cancel the cruise. That saves $1400 but then we have to stay at a hotel for another 3 nights, pay for food, and add a couple more days onto Greg's park ticket.

Go on vacation somewhere else. However, it is hurricane season and going to a beach in the caribbean is a risk. (There's also the $300 hit to take into consideration.)

Come home on Thursday instead of going on the cruise. (I really don't want to do this...)

I suppose I could make cuts to the vacation AND cancel the cruise. Like, cut back on the TS dining. (i.e. Don't eat at both Narcossee's and Cali Grill, choose one.) Or not going to Typhoon Lagoon. I'd like to have some drinks on vacation but if I cut those out of the budget, we'd save money on that as well.

Oh and I priced staying at a value resort as opposed to staying at the Dolphin and it was $763 (+$192 cancellation fee for the Dolphin) making it just as expensive as staying at the Dolphin.

What would you guys do? I need advice!
