I decided to keep this journal for a couple of reasons. One, I really enjoyed reading other peoples journals in motivating me to get started. I guess it was just time to stop reading about running races, and actually start doing them.
Two, I have been told to "put it out there" and make yourself accountable. I know this makes sense. I know I should talk about it and tell people in my social "real" life that I'm now running, but I can't yet. I've started and failed many times before. I've poo-poo'ed offers when friends have tried to get me back into running. "Come run the Turkey Trot 2miles to a bar and have a shot". No, not ruining my thanksgiving with exercise!!
Three, this is an old self conscious fear.......of looking stupid. Afraid people will see me and think, "wow she's really red in the face, she should stop". Or "that's does not look good at all."
Wow, really starting out here on a positive note!!!
Ok but now I am READY TO GET STARTED!! And actually I've already started. I've got 20-some runs under my belt and feel like yes, now I KNOW I can do this!!!!!
