**A YEAR in the Making of a Disney Trip-Sept. 2011**9/28 TR Link Added!**

I can't wait to be there with you! It's going to be our best Disney trip ever. Thank you for your planning. It means a lot to our family. I'll follow all the planning this time!

Welcome to the boards!
I have to say when I first saw your name I was a little worried about Jenn since she has been MIA lately. Glad to see you are just following along with the planning of your trip. I have to say that is adorable! It sounds like you guys will have a great trip.

Hope you are enjoying the busy holiday season. There must be tons of fun going on with all the little ones.

Hi

Am glad I have come across your pre trip report as you are at Pop Century the same time I am going for my first trip - 16-30 September. We have also requested the 50s building 3. My partner thinks am mad for booking the trip this early and starting to plan already! Can't wait for the park hours to be released in March so I can start planning our itinerary in detail.

Love the report so far and will be subscribing to see if I can get any pointers.

And I'm a bad DISer! BAD DISer!!!!!!!!!
Yes, it's been a long time. Months, even. What can I say? The holidays hit, we got more busy than usual, there was a time period when I thought our trip might not happen, and all of that combined to make me shy away from the updates a little. Plus, not too much Disney-related was happening (sad, but true), so I didn't have much to say.

BUT I'M BACK! And I'm sorry some of you were worrying about my safety after my husband joined the boards and commented! (Everyone say, "HIIIIIIII, Fantasyland Dad!") He totally joined just to read my PTR and to check out the photography boards, but I've been so slack that I think he might be a bit disappointed. Never fear, hubs! I'm back on top of things now!

So, hmmmm...what's been going on since...gosh, Halloween!?!? Lots.

Juju just turned FIVE. Momma's feeling old now. We're having her party tomorrow, a Strawberry Shortcake theme. She's super-excited, not just to have a party, but to see people besides her parents and siblings because...

We've been snowed and iced in for about a week now. It's the south, right? Or did I somehow miss that we'd moved north? No, it's totally Dixie, but after getting eight inches of snow, followed by a hard freeze, this stuff hasn't budged. YAY, GA DOT. Not. Roads are still a mess in places, but I know they would never have suspected it could get this bad, and they're sorely under-prepared for things like this around here. Slowly, it's melting. Finally.

Bubba turned SIX MONTHS OLD. Remember that little baby just laying around in the floor at the beginning of this PTR? Well, now he rolls over and can sit up by himself! And next week, we're starting the adventure of eating solids (so far he's only had breast milk, and he's up to 21 lbs.!:scared1:).

And Bebo? She's still definitely 2. Definitely.

Thanksgiving happened. And Christmas. Our girls got a $40 Disney gift card from someone at church, and that went straight into our jar on top of the fridge.

Also at Christmas, we stumbled on our newest obsession: AppleTV. Why are we obsessed? Well, say you have thousands (literally) of Disney pictures and hundreds of Disney songs on your home computer...you can put them all into a GIGANTIC slideshow and watch it on any TV. So TV shows around here? Rare. Because we are reliving our WDW experiences constantly to hold us over until September. It does other cool things, too, like Netflix streaming, YouTube, and all those other sites that let us further our Disney Love. For us, it's a Disney box.

Speaking of sites, I also started a blog, Middle of Mommyhood. It's not just for Disney-related stuff (though that is mixed in there, duh), but just general stuff about my family and my life. If you want to read it, just PM me and I'll send you the address right away. I wasn't sure if we're allowed to post personal sites on here, and I don't want to break any rules, so I'll just PM if you're interested.
Also, I got a Twitter account. EEEEEKKK! Technology!

And in further news, my wonderful husband Brandon (aka Fantasyland Dad) agreed that if I did the Couch to 5k, he'd let me have an EXTRA DISNEY TRIP to run in a 5k or half marathon. No kids (well, maybe just the baby because he's a nursling). That was all the carrot I needed to push myself!

But.

Now I think I pushed it too far. My left knee is pretty much shot now. I can barely walk, much less run. I am not sure what I've done to it, but it's swollen, hot, and painful. I've been icing it and taking anti-inflammatories in hopes of not having to see a doctor, but if it's not better soon, it's off to the doctor for me. Whatever is wrong needs to be fixed, because I like to walk at Disney, and I'm now having ECV nightmares.

So, that's the past couple of months in a nutshell. I PROMISE to be better about updating. I mean, now we're in the actual year of our trip:cool1:! And I've been busily working on our ADR list and paying bits of money toward the trip as we collect it, so this is REAL, people!

I hope I haven't lost all my followers! Let me know if you're still here, or if you're new!

man! talk about life hitting! I heard that! same happened to me! I'v slowly been coming back as well! Gad to hear you are all well though! and excellent about the 5k..boo about the knee! I am joining the gym again soon. I am scared to death of my zumba class! my knees always kill from it! but i love it! Can you explain the couch to 5k thing? I joked to dbf about doing that, and he also said we could totally go back to disney if i did that... i never thought about it after that though..cause me..running..a 5k..:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: BUT..another DISNEY trip..hmm.

anywho, happy holidays, happy new year, and happy birthday and half birthdays to all of your wee ones!

lets start looking at if our days match up..if not, try for a small meet up else where?

Couch to 5k is a program you can find online or as an ipod app that takes somebody who's only been sitting on the couch and has them running a 5k in 90 days. It's about 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. I was loving it, and I'm so upset that I'm hurt! I'm going to try to go to the doctor soon. I was going today, but Brandon had to go into work. Boo!

I'm going to post my days really soon--are yours already set? I can't wait to see if ours match up. If they don't, we'll figure something out :thumbsup2.

Welcome back! I figured with 3 small kids the holidays must get pretty hectic.

Ugh, today is another snow for us here. It seems between Caitlin being out sick and snow days she has been home all month!

I told DH 2013 I am going to do the Princess Half Marathon. I really wanted to do it this year but didn't want our last trip for a few years to be in Feb. He refuses to go for a few years so I guess I'll be down there alone. I hope it works out for you.

Anyway, nice to have you back!

I think I need to clean out my subscribed threads! lol! Forgot about a lot of them. Sorry:confused3.
I have my reservation for CBR for Sept.25 - Oct.1.
I am so confused on where to eat during our vacation. We are definitely NOT doing CRT ( I just can't see using 2 TS each for one meal). My list of dining DOS are:
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
Akershus
EOS (oop)
Tusker House
and I'm considering 50's..just not sure yet! (DH doesn't like attention drawn to him..lol)
Our little girl will be 4 1/2 when we go and she DOES NOT like to wait for her food, so we're going for breakfast buffets for our TS's. We're not big eaters so this will work then we'll most likely just skip lunch and use CS's for dinner.
DH won't look at anything to do with Disney!:lmao: He says I'm getting obsessed:rotfl:

Obsession is healthy, right??? At least that's what I tell myself!
Here's a hint...our lists of ADR wishes are VERY similar. Very. I'm finalizing the last one in my mind, but several of yours are our must-do places.

Oh I knew there was a reason I liked you! :rotfl: I also started a blog, AND I have been running!! My goal (someday) is the Disney half marathon, or the 5k. Not to mention, I have an EBF almost 5 month old.. :lovestruc I think we are long lost sisters! :goodvibes

So, PM me your blog and I'll pm you mine. :thumbsup2

Now, let's get to planning!

Now, let's get to planning!

You just made my day! It's very rare I find someone who is like-minded:thumbsup2! I'm going to pm you my blog in just a second, but I haven't updated it this week due to being in so much pain from the knee injury. It's feeling better now, so hopefully I'll get another post up tomorrow. (And secretly I'm happy someone will find out my kids' real names, which are on there. Their nicknames sound very redneck!)

When I started trying to decide on which days we'll be in each park, I realized something about us--we are creatures of habit! There are some new twists this year, but all-in-all we like what we like.

First of all, we have a set of criteria:
1) The first day must ALWAYS be at Magic Kingdom.
2) The last day must ALWAYS be at Magic Kingdom.
3) Epcot must happen ASAP, because we love those Princesses at Akershus:lovestruc and the girls won't stop talking about them until we see them!
4) Plan for a water park day at the end of the week.

This year we are working in Downtown Disney time, MNSSHP, and a date night, as well as all the parks and a water park.

We have 7 day base tickets, no park hopping (not brave enough...or crazy enough?...to try that with three kids, a distractable DH, and a MIL who lags behind as it is:rolleyes:), and we'll buy the water park tickets on the day we're there. Since we won't be going more than one time and don't do any of the other included activities, the Water Parks and More option was not the best option financially. Because we're not park hopping, we have to plan our days so our ADRs fit with our schedules, and we don't change them once they're set.

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for...drumroll, please:laughing:...

Friday, September 16-- Juju will go to school in the morning, and we'll pick her up about lunch time. We'll drive by DH's work and pick him up on our way to the World! We will drive as far as we can with three kids ages 5 and under and get a hotel as close as possible to WDW.

Saturday, September 17-- Finish the drive to WDW, hopefully a couple of hours at most. Check into Pop Century. Visit Downtown Disney for lunch and shopping, and wait on the text that our room is ready if we need to. Go back to the room to get dressed and then head for MNSSHP!:woohoo:

Sunday, September 18--Magic Kingdom (rated a 1.8 on Touring Plans for this day...for now)

Monday, September 19--Epcot (TP rates it a 0.7!)

Tuesday, September 20--Animal Kingdom, Date Night:goodvibes (TP rates it a 0.4:dance3:!!!)

Wednesday, September 21--Magic Kingdom (TP rates it a 2.4)

Thursday, September 22--Disney's Hollywood Studios (TP rates it a 6.4. We know, we know. But it's Fantasmic! day, and we want to see it:confused3.)

Friday, September 23--Blizzard Beach and another park (TBD that day) or DTD

Saturday, September 24--Magic Kingdom (TP has it rated as a 1.3, and they'll kick us out for MNSSHP. That's okay, though, because we'll either go back and pack or go back to DTD.)

Sunday, September 25--Sad drive home.

So, there you have it. :cheer2: Are any of you going to be at the same parks on these days??

Now I'm in the process of planning our ADRs, and you can rest assured that you'll be hearing about that soon!

Looks like we have ALL of our days planned differently LOL.

Mine are (tentative, of course, and I don't know if I've even posted this on my PTR yet lol)

Sat 17th arrive
Sun 18th Epcot
Mon 19th HS
Tues 20th MK & MNSSHP
Wed 21st DD, pool, Chef Mickeys
Thurs 22nd AK
Fri 23rd MK

I also use TP.. I need to check out the crowd levels for those days.. I looked awhile back and it seems they were all low except my Tues MK day.

Well, at first I was sad we might not meet up, but THEN......
I realized that we're trying for Chef Mickey's on Wednesday, as well! We're going to try to get a dinner ADR--how about you??

Yes, dinner! :cool1:

Tuesday night will be a late night from MNSSHP, plus halfway through the week I am sure we'll all be tired, so we decided to take an 'off' day on Wednesday. How cool if we get ADRs at the same time!

crap..did they announce mnsshp dates already and i missed it? cause last year they waited until very LAST minute and then winded up changing it again!

No! They didn't announce it yet! I'm just going off of the probability that they'll have one then, based on the past couple of years and Touring Plans. If it doesn't happen, we'll change it up, but we're hoping it works out this way. Do you have your park day plans ready? I am excited to see if we can plan a DisMeet!
