Then they continued on to our weather for today which was a lovely, sunny, 90 degrees. Its so weird how different it is from state to state. I can't wait to see more videos. It's amazing how much snow you got! It's fun to see you enjoying it so much. Your fur babies were so cute, running and playing in it. It is such a rare thing for the south, I'm sure sledding was so much fun.

I've never heard of snow cream, sounds like your Gramma had a secret recipe.

When I was a kid my Dad would make snow cones with snow + grenadine or peppermint. Thanks for reminding me of those fond memories.

I find the snow has a different taste now, not as pure as I remember it. I havn't eaten it in years.

Oldest DD17 is home from school today and watched your videos and we both were laughing at the dogs. We totally LOL'd at pics of the doggies taking a poo poo!!! I even laughed later on thinking about it. That's how it goes, for me anyway, just when I look over at a cute dog in a yard or walking, he starts taking a poo!
I'm glad you guys enjoyed your snow. I can appreciate not having it, and then getting it. It'd be like Christmas!

a lot of people have asked about this so here ya go!

snow cream = snow + sugar + milk + vanilla extract. you just mix it together until it's slushy and tastes good and then freeze it. at least that's how my grandma did it. i love it!

Loved the snow update. We got about the same as you did here in NC today. It was so beautiful and so much fun!! I just can't believe how many people on here have never heard of snow cream! That's so funny to me. Stuff like that is what I love about being a Southerner. We have such cool traditions down here, especially pertaining to food!

Here's what it looked like out of my front door when I got up this morning. We couldn't wait to get out in it!!

i guess the weather patterns are changing. i remember MANY nights driving home from work from nashville or the rivergate area and it would be snowing like crazy. one night i remember calling my mom from in front of vol state because i couldn't see the road and i was freaking out! i think we had a white christmas up there in 2004, right? i just remember it started snowing when we got there and i looked at the temperature thing at the bank somewhere in gallatin and it said 6. 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope you guys get some soon!

yeah, we had a blast! oh, i wish it was sunny and 90 degrees here!!!! i'm such a summer girl. i like snow but in small doses.

we had so much fun sledding! i can't wait to post the pics. i think snow cream is a southern thing (which is kind of ironic!). and even here not everyone's heard of it. ray kept eating it yesterday while we were sledding. i was like, how old are you? 3????????

glad you found those funny and not offensive!!!! i was hesitant in posting them but they were just too funny not to share. we did have a great time and now the forecast for this weekend is in the 70's! go figure.

I remember being young and my mom wouldn't make snow cream b/c 'the snow was dirty' but my Memaw always did for me!!

MeMom and I were talking this morning about how here even just a few miles could make a major difference. I really am starting to believe the thing that nashville is in a 'bowl.' Weather patterns here are crazy

anna hasn't sent me her pics from our sledding adventures yet and since i've already got my videos from fantasmic uploaded, i figured i'd go ahead and update. i will continue the snow updates as soon as i get those pictures. they are really funny so keep your eyes open for them!

last i left you we had just enjoyed a testosterone-filled show at LMA. by the time the show was over, it was around 4:45. we decided to head towards the animation courtyard because i knew that bolt and friends were there and anna said luke wanted to meet them. some pictures i took along the way.....

i love this attraction but we just didn't have time that day for it. it's something i like to take my time with.

luke wanted a blue slushie like "gray" (that's what he calls ray) and as you can see, he got a little chilly while drinking it!

we headed back to get in line for the animation academy and the line was pretty long. i snapped this while we were back there. the fox and the hound holds a special place in my heart because after ray saw it for the first time, he had to get a HOUNNNNNNNNNNND dog!

ray and i decided not to wait. it was already after 5:00 by that time. fantasmic started at 7:00 that night and we wanted to ride RnRC. i would've liked to meet bolt, but it wasn't a priority for me. so we parted ways with anna, etc. while ray and i headed in our direction (which i will tell you about later), anna, chris and luke stayed in line for the animation academy. i thought this was a cute picture!

anna said luke was really excited about meeting bolt and his friends (i'm not sure of their names).

anna said after they walked off he looked at her and said, "mama, why was that cat playing with my hair????"

i don't know what luke was doing here but he looks like he's jumping up and down!

after their meet with bolt and friends, they did the little quizzes or whatever and anna got this one.

they didn't do the drawing class (because you will see later that i was texting chris LIKE A MAD WOMAN to hurry up! ). i thought this was a cute picture taken as they were leaving that area.

meanwhile.......

ray and i headed towards RnRC to use the fastpasses he had gotten earlier. well, we get over there and head towards the fastpass line and it's LONG....as in PAST THE TURNSTILES LONG!!!!!! um.....what????? as we were standing there in shock a CM came over the speakers and made an announcement that the posted wait time was wrong and that it would be at least 30 minutes longer of a wait. okay.....that's not a good sign! i like this ride but i don't like it that much. and neither does ray. so we nixed the idea of waiting who knows how long to use our fastpasses. i don't know what the problem was.

so instead.....WE WENT SHOPPING!!!

first we headed towards my favorite store at DHS, villians en vogue.

i got this shirt while we were there......

we went into a couple of stores across the street, too. i LOVED this shirt but they only had it in little girls' sizes.

and i thought this bag was so cute.

i thought these would be so cute in a kids' bathroom!

we came out and watched some streetmosphere for awhile, but i didn't get any good pics because my camera was acting weird for some odd reason. thank goodness it went back to normal!

we thought about heading over to ToT to see what the wait was but as we walked by the entrance to fantasmic there were already HORDES of people heading up there. it was only 6:00 but i didn't want to take a chance of not seeing fantasmic. ray LOVES fantasmic and i knew we wouldn't be back for awhile. so we headed that way.

we got a seat about 10 rows from the top. it was getting colder as the sun went down so i didn't want to get a drop of water on me. PLUS i wanted to get out of there fast because we HAD two things to do after fantasmic: TSM and the osborne lights! we saved enough space for anna, chris and luke to join us and settled in for the wait.

do you remember the moon from last night at epcot? well, it was even BRIGHTER and PRETTIER on this night! we found out later that this was the biggest, brightest moon of the year. in fact, it was the closest the earth has been to the moon in 15 years! it was so pretty. the picture doesn't do it justice.

i had texted chris to let him know what the situation with RnRC was and that we were saving seats for fantasmic. well, around 6:30 the theater started getting REALLY full! when i saw the brazilian tour group coming in i sort of freaked a little bit. i knew anna wanted everyone to see this show (she had seen our video of it) and i didn't want them to miss it. this was the crowd at 6:35.

finally around 6:45 chris texted me back and said they were using the bathroom at the hollywood brown derby and would be there soon. i told him to HURRY!!!!!

ray occupied himself by doing the wave while we were waiting. the brazilians were SO enthusiastic about it - it was really funny!!!

i was so happy to see anna, chris and luke walk in just before the show started. i was worried they wouldn't let them in but they did. she said the line to get in the animation show and for bolt just took longer than they thought it would.

on to the show! i really want to get better pictures of this show someday. my little camera doesn't do it justice. i can never get the shots i want, but here's some of what i got. some of these are anna's, too.

now many of you have asked me how i think your kids would do with this show. so i'm posting 90% of it here for you. it's not the whole thing but it's close!

ray knows the moves to this part and does them when he watches it at home.





i wanna be a monkey during this part! luke was excited to see rafiki. he was the first character luke ever met at disney world when they came in spring 2007.



you can hear ray say, "well, i'll be!" here when jiminy crickett comes up in a bubble. i was like, "um...hun, that's wishes." oh, and for some reason the indians only had one boat lit up. there's always at least one out for some reason!



pocahontas is anna's favorite so she was excited to see her!



listen for ray singing here. ISN'T THAT THE CUTEST THING EVER???? and then he and anna start singing together during snow white's, "some day my prince will come". it was so funny! one of those moments from the trip that i really remember vividly.



time for some evil queen-i-ness!!!! my favorite villian is maleficent but if i had to play any role in this show it would be the snow queen. she's so awesome in this part.

and now the DRAGON. even though maleficent's my girl, i love how mickey comes out and saves the day. and i love the message of the show for the kids - that a vivid imagination is a great thing, but that you can control it when it sometimes gets out of hand!

my favorite part! i just love mickey on the mountain top throwin it down and how the "good" side of his imagination wins in the end. please excuse the notification of adam and buffy being online - i was playing the DVD on ray's xbox!



so to answer those questions about the kiddos, luke is 4 years old and he's generally not into the scary stuff and he did fine. i think he sat in chris's lap the whole time but he was okay. so i think it depends on the kid but hopefully these videos will give you a better idea.
