~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

There's nothing like a glowcube in one's drink to add some excitement!!! :yay:

Is that a sugar canister on the left, next to your glass? I like it! It would be handy to see when you're nearly out of sugar...

And hey Dawn, I've finally started my trip report! The link is in my signature if you're interested. I'm going to write about our visit to New York first so that might be of interest to you! Your New York trip must be coming up soon!?

well, i was gonna do an update tonight but i'm not done uploading video because i had a huge distraction today.....

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and lots of it! we haven't gotten a good snow like this since i've been here (almost 12 years) so this is really exciting. it's going to freeze tonight so i really hope i don't have to work tomorrow. i'm still waiting to hear about that.

anyway, i'm uploading pictures and video of our snow to share with you. those of you up north may not care to see more of the white stuff but we never get it here so it's really a big thing! if i'm not working tomorrow i'm going sledding with our neighbors!

be back later with those pics and video!

What do your dogs think about all the snow?

I gotta know...how much is a lot? We're waiting on 14ish inches here. It's been a *rough* winter up here, and that is putting it mildly! I can definitely tell you I don't have work tomorrow!

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and lots of it!!

:-P

I can't think of the last time we had a snow like you guys are seeing now. I was prob in elem. school :sad1: And this again was so disappointing b/c it was ALL around us!

I gotta know...how much is a lot?

KristinAnne - I'll answer for Nashville....when we get a few of inches now that's a LOT. I honestly can't think of the last time we saw a 6-10 inch snow and had a good sledding day. It seems to never happen here now. I remember having some when I was in elem. school, but beyond that I can't think of a good one. We've had some ice storms, but those are never the same.

And even Dawn was a little different living north of Nashville, she saw more snow than I did being further north. I grew up on the south side of Nashville and now live just east.

I understand if you see it all the time you could care less when it comes again . Next time you can just send it to Nashville :upsidedow

Nice!!!!!! I have some Arbour Mist in my fridge...not the same tho! LOL.

:rotfl2: funny thing is i have some too!

Cool pics Dawn!!

thanks!

I don't think your a nerd, watch the fireworks on your TV :goodvibes

thanks. good idea! too bad i didn't see this until this morning.

i'm glad i'm not the only one that thinks that about the glow cubes! yes, that's a sugar canister. i do believe i got it at crate & barrel. nice big smudge mark on it, huh? :rotfl: i already subbed to your TR - can't wait to read all about your trip! we've got awhile before we leave for NYC. we're going in late may.

I have a bottle at home too and Rose Regale always taste better in epcot for some reason!! :goodvibes

really? i've never had it epcot but will definitely be getting a glass next time. i liked it although it was kinda sweet for me. i only drank 2 glasses. i may have some more tonight though!

Whenever i think of Epcot and the Italian Pavilion i think Rose Regale. Yum!:woohoo:

so good!

:thumbsup2 Love the glow cube. How do you keep it glowing for so long after the trip?

thanks! it operates on a watch battery so you can replace those. we haven't had to yet though.

What do your dogs think about all the snow?

they were playing in it earlier. you will see - the first thing they did was take a poop! :rotfl2: but then they started running around in it. it was cute!

about 7 inches. we NEVER get that here! it never snows - it always ices!!!

but you have to admit that you've gotten SOME snow in the last few years. we've gotten NONE. zilch. this is the first time it's really SNOWED since like 2002, i think. and then it wasn't nearly this much.

Yay for snow for you! :goodvibes It just started here and I'm excited only because I probably won't have school tomorrow

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:
Thanks Jill that cracks me up!!

Yay for you!! I'll be excited for your snow, because it's not up by me!!:goodvibes I hope, for your sake, that you don't have to work tomorrow.

no work for me tomorrow!!!! :cool1: michele (my boss) called me a little while ago and said that her judge called her and told her he spoke to the chief judge and he's cancelling all court in our county tomorrow. :thumbsup2

so, on to the pictures of the white stuff!

first off, i walked into the living room this morning to find eli here.....

DSC00361.jpg

:rotfl2: he cracks me up! and you can kinda see pluto in there. maybe they were napping together.

the snow started around 2:00 or so today and it was coming down pretty steadily. i didn't think it would stick but i was wrong! here's some video i took not too long after it started. you hear me laughing about our flood lights being on - ray can't figure out what's wrong with them. they always come on during the day!

here are the boys going out into the back yard for the first time after it started snowing.....

in this one you can see the pools of dirty water in our back yard. it has rained for 2 days straight and then with all that snow on top it was so nasty! and now it's all frozen solid.

we decided to take the boys outside around 3:30. eli had never seen snow before and he's such a big chicken that i was worried he would be scared of it. but he loved it!

here's some videos of our first few seconds in the snow with them. ray sliding down the driveway was so funny!

my house in the snow!

DSC00374.jpg

did you hear me in that last video talking about the dogs pooping in the snow? well, i turned around after i took the above picture to see this. :lmao: sorry for the gross angle on eli but it's too funny not to post.

DSC00375.jpg

more pics.....

DSC00384.jpg

more videos.....

i love how eli's running towards me in this one! he's so funny. the snow was high enough to rub his belly so he'd try to jump up as he ran.

we had fun playing in the snow with the boys! they loved it.

around 5:00 the snow flakes started getting REALLY big and fluffy! this is looking up at the sky.

DSC00437.jpg

and here's a video from our front porch.....

ray and i went outside again because the snow was so big and fluffy, we had to check it out! our neighbors were out too. that's shawn on his 4-wheeler.

DSC00440.jpg

and that's chapin all wrapped up....

DSC00444.jpg

here's ray with shawn and chapin's wife, leigh ann......

DSC00448.jpg

here's chapin on the 4-wheeler. i was so scared he was gonna flip it with no helmet!

this poor little dog was with another neighbor of ours. he had snow frozen to his legs and it looked like little snow balls hanging off! but his mommy said he refused to go inside because he loved the snow!

DSC00452.jpg

here's ray sledding down shawn's front yard.....

we are going to try to do more sledding tomorrow because the snow will be harder and easier to sled on. we'll see!

i took these just as the sun was going down......so pretty!

DSC00456.jpg

it's stopped snowing now but the temp supposed to get down to 29 tonight so i doubt it will melt until around lunchtime tomorrow.

I love seeing how excited you are over the snow! It's really cute.
I wonder what your dogs were thinking about it.......

That is so pretty!! I'm still jealous :guilty:, but I will just hold out until we get a snow like that again. It will happen....who knows when it will happen but it will.........

Matt said to get up at about 3am get out there sledding!! You'll have plenty of time to do it then. I don't see all of that melting to fast. You'll have to get out there semi early but you'll get enough of it I'm sure :upsidedow

Have fun...I'm glad you don't have to worry about work tomorrow :goodvibes

Great snow pictures! That must be fun when you don't get it often :)

When you are a southerner you turn in to a true kid, like a 5 year old kid :mickeyjum at Disney when you even really just see a snowflake. When you get a snow like this.....it's the greatest thing ever ::yes::

I actually love reading about the excitement of the snow. We just take it for granted around here, so it's fun to see people who never get it actually enjoy it. We'd definitely send it to Nashville for you at this point, Erica! 7 inches is a decent amount though! Most of our storms this year have been around the same. They've just been one after the other after the other after the other. The one that's on its way is the biggest all year. I did enjoy seeing the grass for the 24 hours we had it though. :rotfl: I loved seeing your flower that was coming outside though. My puppy loovvves the snow too. It's so cute! Now, what's snow cream? I think I should have something fun to make tomorrow! I hope you get to go sledding again!
