Update on this comment. I had even thought of starting a update on the TR but the fan on my laptop died. So it is not working right now
We'll see how long it takes to get fixed and how much $$$$. B/c since we have the desktop it won't be a huge rush to get it done. But no more updates at least til it's running b/c all of my pictures are on there
I would like to see the one in Buford. B/c honestly from those pictures that was a pretty decent rink. And it's bulit EXACTLY like the ones here. The nashville rinks (Brentwood, Rivergate and Smyrna) are all owned by the same man. And supposedly he is the 'king' of roller skating rinks
no worries! if you want i can upload the pictures if it looks like it's gonna be forever before you can do it. just let me know!
i have never been to the one in buford but i know it's newer. that's so funny about the "king" of skating rinks!
I was looking at food pics on the catergorized thread and came across one of yours...how was this??? Is it an entree or app and what is the exact name? And the cappucinos there....were they good? I want to go here in August (I've been craving escargot since our honeymoon) so that's the pic I'm in search of....back at it. LMK girlie!
erica already answered this but it was REALLY good! it was nice and creamy and rich. and it had a good flavor to it - more than just macaroni and cheese! i carried half of it back to the room with me and it was a great snack after
MNSSHP that night!

i just looked at the allearsnet.com menu and i'm pretty sure this is gratin de macaroni off the lunch menu, but they have it at dinner, too.
What fun!!!! We used to go skating ALL THE TIME growing up, I think I had a roller rink b-day party once. You guys did awesome. Love the how she kept saying "you might want to move out of my way" as she clung to the wall

You guys look like you have so much fun together. Thanks for sharing!!!
Lesley
i know i had a party when i was 9 and again when i was 12 at the skating rink. such fun!
I would have been laughing at that, if I had been there.
Honestly, I laughed at it right here at home.
It's only 6 a.m., but the picture of the pasta does look pretty good.
Might have to have some of that for supper. I'll probably have it on my mind today now that I've seen it.
it was really funny! erin cracks me up. she has a really dry sense of humor and i just "get" her. hope you had a good cheesy macaroni dinner that night!
Dawn - you guys look like you had a lot fun. Me and DH used to go roller skating with friends before we got married for awhile, we loved it. My DS7 went to a roller skating party awhile ago and he wants to go back with us

.
we did! you should take him - it's like riding a bike. you don't forget how to do it! you just have to get a feel for it again and it'll all come back to you.
This guy is hilarious

I'm not sure what he was trying to do - dance? Cracks me up.
It looks like you had so much fun. I would love to go roller skating again, haven't in years! I think that they should turn one of the empty clubs on Pleasure Island into a roller rink.
he was REALLY good on the skates. he would go backwards and sideways and twirl and everything. so i'm sure he was doing some sort of snazzy move there. anna said when she took it he said, "i wanna be in the picture" as he went by. oh, that's such a good idea about turning a club at PI into a skating rink!!!! i'd TOTALLY go! we should write the powers that be and since it was your idea it should be called KELLY'S RINK OF DISNEY FUN!
Hi Dawn - trying to catch up now that I'm back.........
Great pix from the DHS parade. I have yet to see that one; Lauren doesn't like to take the time to stop for parades. I'm thinking when we're back in Dec. though, it will have to be on our must-do list - it's looks so colorful and interactive; I'm sure Amanda would get a kick out of it!
And we were lucky - the American Idol Experience had opened the day before we arrived. Lauren and I caught one of the shows - it's incredibly cool!

Hopefully I"ll get my TR started soon and you can read about it and see my pix over there.
hi, cammie! thanks! i bet amanda would love it too. there's so much going on and so much to look at. the CMs are awesome, too. they come right up to the kids and try to get them involved. cool that you got to see AI at DHS. i can't wait to read about it!
Awww, I wish we lived closer and I would so meet you guys one day to skate!!!!!! Especially if they played any 80's music!!!
that would be so fun! they played a little bit of '80's music but i was hoping for more. next time we go i will for sure let you know.
Well if I drive down then you can come to the other side of Atlanta to meet us to skate!! Would be lots of FUN!
we should totally do this some time!
heather - i will let you know if we get together to do it and we can all go!!!
I just looked at your skating pics and you guys have me cracking up!

Especially the one when are taking a brake the other girl looks so beat! I'm glad you had a good time! Two falls isn't to shabby either.
thanks! yeah, it was loads of fun. two falls isn't bad but one of them was kinda hard and now my back and arm are hurting. i'm getting old!
Your skating night looked so fun! We had a rink like that built in the 70s to replace one from the 30s - they tore it down last Summer and built a strip mall of office space that No one has rented yet. There is nothing for kids to do here - sad.
As for your pics - that guy with the "saggy drawers" posing behind Angie on the floor is too funny!

I'm glad you had a great time!
OOPS - didn't see that someone else already posted about "that guy"
that's what happened in my home town in tennessee. we had a skating rink and it caught on fire and they never did repair it or build another one, so we had to drive 30 minutes to the nearest one. as far as that guy goes, see what i said above to kelly (philadisney). he was really good on those skates but in that picture he's so cheesy!
i used to love roller skate parties, you were cool if you had one, i used to be good, but i bet i would fall on my butt if i went now.
i think i had one when i was 9 and then again when i was 12. so fun! i fell on my butt but that's okay!
Finally,caught up AGAIN

DS(2) is loving this TR as much as I am. We are in a Cars phase right now and when he saw the pics of "QueenLight", as he calls him, and Mater, his face lit up like Christmas morning. I cannot wait for him to meet his heroes. He was also loving the Monster's Inc characters in the parade. THANK YOU for so many wonderful pictures!
I was loving your report on Sci-Fi Drive In. I have been going back and forth over ADR's for Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time. Both look so good and I cannot decide which one to go with. If you had to choose between the two, which would you recommend?
I cannot believe I am still over a year and a half out from our trip and I am already this excited and obsessive over our plans. By the time it gets here, I will be impossible to live with(Ok, DH already thinks I am

)
so glad you and your DS are reading together - that's so cute! i've been to both those restaurants and they're both good. for younger kids honestly i'd go to sci-fi. it's just a neat experience. now do keep in mind they play those sci-fi clips, but i don't think they're scary. luke was fine with them and he doesn't like scary things. the draw of '50's is the personality of the staff and the decor and i don't think a younger kid would appreciate those things. plus i've heard of people getting servers who aren't into the "act" and it's a let-down. we had a hilarious server there but i think i enjoy sci-fi more. just stick to the basic food and you'll be good!
i hear ya on the planning - we are going back in december 2010 and i already have a list of restaurants i wanna try next time.
